it's very disturbing for sure..

howard stern used to have those god hate's fags people on his show all the time and those kids are pretty screwed up imo.. is it child abuse or do i just hate all religion and hate to see innocent kids be put through all that bs??

i'm not sure, but i don't really think it's abuse simply for the fact that i don't agree with them...

Yea, we all have rights and if this kid and his guardians agrred to doing this, i see nothing wrong with it. Now if the kid was shackled down, then yes, cps should be contacted immediately

It's just indoctrination.

The child has no choice....born in the USA? You're a christian. Born in Indonesia? You're a Muslim. Born in Zanzibar? You're a Zoroastrian.

i have really been into moose tracks, which is sort of a toffee color.. :D
OK I walked into that ... I'm hoping you know what I'm asking though. For me, as a scion of a 1st-generation American family (central European heritage) the choice was "Christian, or not?" I've been each of those two. Currently ... not.
Although in terms of regions and numbers ... BA didn't include a big one, which is Judaism and its flock. Could that be to point here? cn

i was never baptised or or went to ccd classes or any of that either... the only real time i've been in church as kid was boy scout sundays..

my grandmother was a sunday school teacher for years at a luthern church, but we were never made to go, and like i said, both my parents are heathens as well, lol.. :D

My ex was Lutheran ... Dark Side Lutheran, in Garrison Keillor's parlance. Oy.
But in a way you may have underlined BA's point imo ... you chose to not be a Christian. cn

but he was saying you don't have a choice as to what you are.. if you're born in the us, bamm, you're a christian, you're born in iraq, you're a muslim...
my point was that's not true as not everyone in the us is christian, and that some parents in fact don't force their religion down their kids throats, and let them decide if it's for them or not.. it's something i'm very proud of my parents for allowing us as kids to chose for ourselves..

one of my greats was a preacher who married abraham lincoln, so it's not like religion didn't run in my family up till my siblings time..

Oh ... I see your point. Of course, I believe that all generalizations are bad. :joint::bigjoint:
My parents worked the same way, and I've been the same way with my kids. The girl is quite the young skeptic (and I actually have to rein in her teenaged flights into the absolute) but the boy takes after his mama's side. On the one hand it's Lutherans and not Scientologists or something; on the other, his grandmother is convinced we're in the end times. Double oy. cn

Ime nutjobs are equally distributed among the variously religious and the nonreligious. Although certain beliefs (Scientology rather leaps to mind) have a concentrating effect ... but not for the really egregiously especial nutjobs. They make a home of whatever environment bore them ... cn

I don't have that kind of time.

They're all equally as ignorant and dangerous
