University Hospital Galway in western Ireland declined to say whether doctors believed Halappanavar’s blood poisoning could have been reversed had she received an abortion rather than wait for the fetus to die on its own. In a statement it described its own investigation into the death, and a parallel probe by the national government’s Health Service Executive, as “standard practice” whenever a pregnant woman dies in a hospital. The Galway coroner also planned a public inquest.

A GREAT BIG WTF!!!!!!

I read that too. What a lot of Holier than Thou Asses. I have a lot to say and it isn't nice. I'm a Christian and I believe that abortion is a decision only a woman can make and should be made without interference by anyone, no matter her decision.

Whoa whoa, hold up a second.

It has nothing to do with religion, the law states that as long as a foetal heartbeat is present they can't remove it.

Blame the retardedly pro-life laws, it's nothing to do with religion (as much as I "strongly dislike" Catholicism).

Listen for context, we couldn't get the morning after pill "over the counter" until a couple of years ago.

Abortion is still a huge no-no here, not for long hopefully and clearly the doctor should've acted sooner.

It's sickening that this happened, but it's why politicians shouldn't legislate medical matters.

God willed her death, so she died. Open and shut case, really.

So the father has no say, at all?

But once that baby is born, the father has no choice when it comes to supporting that child.

i'll repeat what some of the misogynists on this board have said, but in the opposite direction: should have thought about that before getting your dick wet.
