Um... with a 9.50/hour 40 hour job you can still qualify for full food stamps. You can afford car insurance, gas, rent and a dependent. You can even afford to put aside a few bucks a paycheck for savings. I've been there.

To say that you can't afford car insurance while on minimum 7.25 WITH foodstamps means that you are spending your money on other less important things.

PS: i have no issue with food stamps and aid for people who are working jobs but are not making enough to live. I have a problem with people who will not work because their standard of living while working is not enough better then on welfare to justify them giving up all their relaxation time.

my brother was laied off 6 months after he graduated college and began working as a BMW mechanic because he was one of the last 3 hired, he searched for 4 months for a job similar to the one he went to school for, and since he had been unable to get any kind of public aid, even after 4 months of 0 income and constant job applications, he resorted to stocking shelves at a grocery store for $9.50/hour. He now drives a 2013 z-71 and recently bought a house.

damn it my computer shut off twice now as I was typing...damn computer. I never said I was better than working class people Or that i was more valuable. You're miscontruing me. I know my situation. And if worse came to worst I would do what I have to do to eat. On a side note good for your bro, My buddie from highschool works for a dealership. Anyways your brother must have stashed money away to live without any governmental assistance programs and/ or lived at someones home until get got on his feet again. A lot of lower middle class are getting boned by the Large companies by being given extremely low pay.

No brother I could not have collected foodstamps if I was working 40/hrs @7.25( speaking of which, min wage just went up a bit). Oh and Im under 25 so insurance is double(here is MA).

Its amazes me how low min wage in america is mine is 10.75 just to start although I don't work min wage but I did when I was younger and lived on my own

shit canada is where its at. They also have free health insurance from what I hear, Yes? That would be great for my dad. My dad cant afford health insurance because it is thru the roof $$$ wise.

Yes I can go to the hospital because I have the flu for free however if you dont have health insurance you have to pay for your medications . Also for ambulance rides however even mcdonalds offers health insurance after 6months if employment so its not hard to get heakth insurance

Still thats awesome. So many people owe so much money to the health care system that barely pay it back/pay it real slow(because they dont have much) in my country.

USA is sooooo over rated, every employer wants someone that's 20 years old, has a 100 years experience, and will work for minimum wage for the rest of their life. ARM THE UNEMPLOYED !!!!!!
