look up compost teas Acid, its prob about time you brew one up and join the organics revolution!!!! if you need some help with anything give me a ring m8 its verry simple. would give your plants a really nice boost. and once you go organic you never go back so might want to start learning!!

my fjc was grown with subs supersoil. great results even with only 4 gals of soil.

i know, but you recomend he give going organic a shot. so I noted that my pics that I posted in the thread a couple pages back were grown organic, in supersoil, which is just another, equally organic method when compared to teas. Your method can be used on this run, maybe mine (well, subcools) can be tried on the next? I feel less like a scientist, and more like a gardener now, and I think my plants love me for it.

right on man, sorry wasnt sure where you were coming from with that comment.

i would love to try out subcools recipe but i just find it too much work and money. supposed to let it "bake" for like 2 months prior to usage and all the different ingredients adds up. plus you have to buy soil still. (not trying to sell my method) i like the way i do it because i spend around 45 bucks on 4 cu ft of soil and then another 30 on my nutes..i do have to mix mix up some nutrients but its minor, plus it lets me spend time with the girls.

i havent tried my soil mix from start to finish but im pretty sure the espoma garden tone that i mix in has alot of the same ammendments as subcool's mix, the only difference is i dont let mine bake for 2 months before i use it.

anyways, if i had the space i would definatly try it as i have heard it yeilds great results, with my limited space my soil mix seems to be more efficient, maybe not as good but works for me.

As a couple other people have stated, I like to pay my work forward. I do that in veg time, in soil prep, just so I dont have to mix a whole bucket full of stuff 3 times a week and hope it does good things to my plants. the biggest deciding factor is, do you have the footprint for 7 gallon pots. if that answer is no, then the decision is easy. Startup costs can be a bitch when you dont have much flow to work with, but if you make it to the first harvest its usually pretty smooth from there (have about 90 gallons of soil cookin right now, and I paid for it all with a couple branches off of 1 plant....). to each his own and the beauty of this hobby is there are 1000 ways to do it. and even if we all did it the same way there would still be 1000 different opinions about the end product hehe.

sorry to burst your bubble but sub has stated that his "supersoil" is NOT ORGANIC, But close enought for him i believe are his words exactly.. i dont use it and im not knockin it but dont just regurgitate info you read somewhere. due dilligence is required

yeah, i use the same mix so it never really changes. i dont mix soil 3 times a week maybe once every 3 weeks. its relativly easy though, i have a tote and i just dump the soil in then my amendments and get my hands dirty. mix it all up and put the lid on. use it as i need.

i grow lots of shit not just MJ. the growing thing is a hobby of mine. the herb is for my wife and a few patients i know. i try and make thier finacial life easier by taking care of them when the dispenserary/caregiver wont because they have no money. i dont really grow for $$, i do sell a little here and there and that money always goes back into my product.

i hate to speak for Acid but i know for sure having 90 gal of soil baking isnt really an option for him. I personally dont care which method he uses, i personally like growing organic. I have fouind it easier and less worry about chemicals in my smoke. This is why i encourage growing organic no matter which method you use.

my comments about making an compost tea would apply even if he was using super soil. organic compost tea can only improve a soils food web. even with super soil alot of people still brew up tea's.

his super soil could be organic. it depends on what products you use. not everyone uses the exact same ammendments.

I grow in Super Soil(a modified recipe). I made sure to use all organic ingredients. Sub is a total toolbag though. Seriously, I fucking want to punch that dude square in his face.

But, alas, I will not.

Ok guys, thank you for all the info, but I think I'll just stick to what works for me, I'll still use that soil mix of plant tone and perlite but I don't think I will go full organic, brewing teas etc. that shit ain't for me, beside I'm doing only 2 plants at a time so a bag of FFOF + plant tone + perlite it's all I need for now, maybe in the future when I get a bigger place then I can start thinking a bit bigger ;)

For now I think I'm good, my plants are looking healthy, growing nicely what else can I ask for? ;)

Matt 90 gallons of soil?? shit you got that right where in the hell would I fit that? haha so any kind of mixing, baking or any other stuff ain't happening hehe

I live in a middle of BIG ASS city haha

Plus my schedule is getting full with my sons swimming classes, soccer practice we're getting a bit over our heads hahaha. So I got to keep this grow KISS ;)

you can brew a tea in a 1 gal milk jug m8, just toss in some of that espoma garden tone, maybe 1/4 cup and some water and molases. dont even really neeed a air stone but its prefered. let sit and bubble or not for 24 hours and bam you got a nice little compost tea that will increase your microbe population. simple man. you can go as big or little as you wish.

if you decide against the tea at least do a tbls of molasses per gal of plain water next feed to help feed the microbes that are in the soil already....anyways all up to you m8

Ohh ok got it, I'll give a try with a 1 gal jug. I thought I had to do it on a larger scale haha, I'll get on it this weekend ;)

nah you can just do a 1 gal jusg, its essentially to just innoculate the soil with more microbes. some people add more stuff to thier teas. i usually just keep it sumple but use a 5 gal bucket.

i just toss in a handfull of earthworm castings and a handfull of the garden tone, some molasses and a airstone and done. takes about 3 min.
