What's the white fuzzy stuff on my soil? See pics.

Good morning,

I woke up to see white fuzzy stuff on my soil surface, none on the plants. Plants look great.

I'm starting week 4 of flowering, organic soil, Roots Organics Nutes, humidity at 48-50% temps 75-65.

Any ideas if this is harmful?

Looks like white mold, or white power mildew....
Before you put some poison on your plant, just try spraying lightly a small portion with Hyd Per/H2O2...
I don't know why this works for me, try it...
Air flow, you prob need more air flow at bottom...

H2O2 that shit. 1/2 strength in water. Just spray....It took away my white mold in hours....Believe me it works great...

Id use a spoon and scrape it off. Its probably from over watering a little, or like someone mentioned lack of lower air movement. Just try not to damage roots (duh) and replace the soil on the top if you can. Not sure but i think i read somewhe that sand might help. Id double check that one cause its fuzzy and ive never tried it. Good luck

Not trying to start an argument but isn't white mold a good thing in/on organic soil??.......its just the organic matter breaking down or fermenting or something......ive been using organic soil and get white mold all the time especially when cooking outside.......im no expert but no dummy either, don't be so hasty with the h202.........hopefully someone could elaborate more about white mold and organic soil more than me.......DON'T OVERWATER!!!!!GL.peace

I'm listening. I am growing organically, and in the past when I had organic veg gardens I would have mold because of the rich soil. That was a good thing. But I have heard horror stories about a powdery mildew that eats the buds from inside out. First grow so I don't know.

I am posting to the Organic section too, but those guys don't wake up til 6:00 pm.

The plants have always been bushy and grown in the closet so I'm sure air movement can be improved. I don't want to cut any leaves unless absolutely necessary.

I hit the water cans just a couple days ago with 20% overflow. Pretty good about letting the suckers dry out before adding h2o, but I will definately keep an eye on overwatering. Thanks

the white fuzz is mycelium. that is the white fuzz subcool always talks about when cooking super soil.
It is a sign that you have a healthy soil food web in that container, which is what you've been working to achieve with organics.

DO NOT add any h202 or chemical additives at this point, it will detrimental to the food web.

Yeah, I thought you guys would like that joke. I buy and cook with organic food and try to stay local with my farmers. Guess I will have to continue the trend with growing pot that way too!

I cant believe you don't have mushrooms growing yet.
If you think that you have problems with air flow, I think I would agree.
Increase air circulation, concentrating on the fresh air coming into the room, scape the top of the soil off.
Other than that I like the setup and the plants are looking good.

even when we sprayed our pool sand with bleach, it didnt kill the colonly. the water you use just feed the fungi, and it grows back. be persistent
