quick question on equatorial geographic location

good day guys.

i live on an island pretty close to the equator...sunlight is 12/12 all year long.

i would like to know if it'd be a smart idea to leave the germinated seeds outdoors untill i see what sex they turned before bringing them inside to get a little larger?

we all know if you plant 12/12 from seed it will be just fine but you'll have smaller plants..so what i want is to make sure which is female before i get them under the t5's to get larger and bring them back outdoors to flower in the natural 12/12 sunligh and atmosphere...and so i can take clones from the females for next batch to grow untill certain size before taking them outside and so on and on...

thank you and kind regards from the sunny island.

I heard you really stress out your plants if you go from 12/12 to an 18/6 then back to 12/12... Am I understanding your question? You want to germinate and then immediately put them in 12/12 sunlight until you see sex. At that time, you're gonna bring them inside under T5's to veg and get big (18/6 light cycle), and then when they're big enough you're gonna put them back outside to flower in 12/12 sunlight... is that what you're asking?

Grow a landrace sativa and tell yourself how little time in 12/12. Dude - there are strains (sativas) that began in such climates and daylight times. Check Holy Smoke Seedss on Attitude. Sea of Seedss does not carry HS. Check their landrace African sativas and dream some.

RIU member angryblackman grew some goodies but RIU member Mohican grew out a HS Malawi Gold and some others. This is his recommendation if just one from HS.

I dont know why people have this idea that 12/12 from seed grows little plants. I have 5 skunks under a 600 that are 40" tall and are gonna give me about 4 oz. each. If you do that under the sun you are not gonna have little plants.

so what you're basically saying is that with those landraces there is no need for going inside to get bigger since they will get big enough with the natural 12/12?

well you sparked a light in my head just now....the seeds i got are from Jamaica, and last time i checked, these are indeed sativas and they grow big..and jamaica is 12/12 all the time too...and i doubt that the guys on their guerilla adventures carry any t5's with them for vegging in the woods...so yeah...ill check it out and many thanks!

did you grow them 12/12 from seed without vegging?

i have no picture now to show you how most plants grow in 12/12 .. but from what i've seen, pre-vegging inside gives you more budd at the end..
