bhandari....very nice looking grow, looks great!

....question about your high temps, still in the mid to upper 80's? what is your typical high temp? and where do you position the thermometer to measure your temps?
Hey, thanks and good question man...as I my self have questioned it's accuracy! Its a thermo that I got from radio-shack for 15$. Ill give you shots of where it currently relies tomorrow when the lights are on, but for now I think you can see it hanging around at the bottom of my tent in some older pics, lying flush to the floor! It has a little prop on the back (that I should use, I'll show it in the new pics later), and it is NOT in the immediate air flow/stream of the fan (more to the side). BUT...YES, to answer your question, 83 to 85 is what it tends to top out at!

I have a 12v DC CPU fan wired to an old cellphone charger...been thinking bout adding it in, but wasn't sure if my temps were an issue, so haven't messed with it yet!

Whats your thoughts buddy?

Got a little update, and few more pics since I know that's what most people care about. As of today the plants are both 7 weeks old from the day they first emerged from soil, and have been flowering 3 weeks now. They took about 5 - 7 days to show sex under 12/12 which I'm not counting as "official" flowering time, and I only vegged them for 3 weeks...thus today they're 7 weeks old. Judging from the thin finger-like leaves, I'm guessing that this strain is more sativa than indica, and if I'm not mistaken, will flower around 8 - 13 weeks on average...BUT this is just my prediction based of leaves alone, time will tell!

I seriously like this grow its a fantastic cfl grow it gives me insperation, i got 2 cfl boxes i have built but have not used yet and seing these nice healthy plants are pretty nice. my only question is instead of running 8x 23watt cfl's why not run higher watter cfl's in those 2 by 1's ? higher watts never hurt nobody and being that its cfl's it cant possibly get much hotter i know you said your running at about 80-85 degrees but i noticed that you do not have a fan inside of your box? is there circulation air other than your exctraction fan? that could seriously help your temps if you can add a fan inside to help with airflow which in terms you could up your bulb wattage to something higher which in terms could get you a higher yeild thats just what i am thinking. other than that this is a fantastic grow and much props to a nice lush green cfl grow i will deff b following this and BTW to the person who asked about using molasses... its never to early every person should use molasses as soon as you start changing your light cycle i have a thread i posted quite some time ago about the differences in molasses which is key i'll try n see if i can find and post.. gj

Yo Kartoon, thanks for digging my grow. Their actually 26 watts each and 1750 lumens (my 6500k veg cfls were 23 watts each, but I never mentioned that anywhere before), either way...The fan blows down around both sides of the 125w cfl hood, and stirs the plants up quite well. I have a 12v CPU fan wired to a cell phone charger that I will be adding tomorrow to vent out some of the excess heat...but until I can get my temps I won't be adding any more wattage. As for the molasses, I've got some black strap unsulfured stuff that I've used before, but I'll check out your link in moment anyways...and thanks again!

Well thats good you got some circulation going around, i noticed that in the first post you state you have a "vortex fan" as your extraction fan spliced into a 12v cell charger, you need to upgrade your extraction fan i think im trying to remember as i type this the types of fans and the cfm's.... its been ahwile i know the last comp fan i bought was a 120mm comp comparible to http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Cooler+Master+-+120mm+CPU+Cooling+Fan/2305185.p?id=1218320078359&skuId=2305185&st=computer fans&cp=1&lp=9 ..... CFM = cubic feet per minute so if your space is 3ft x 2.5ft x 4ft your CF = 30 ... stay with me on this now ... if your CF is 30 to circulate your air 1 time in 1 minute (CFM) you need a fan rated at atleast 30 CFM (cubic feet per minute) now thats just to circulate all your air in your box 1 time in 1 minute ... if your running hot temps you would obviously want to circulate more times in 1 minute so you could up it to 120mm fan to cirulate at about 60+ CFM which would be 2 times per minute @ 60cfm ... if you search around on the forums you will find all sorts of different answers on how many times you need to circulate your air in a minute for successfull temps and what not but truth be told do what works best for you because everyones grow is different... personally i think you should upgrade your fan to get around atleast 2 times a minute and that should drop your temps (hopefully) ... now keep in mind that this is all based on the fact that i dont know what kind of fan your running now as an extraction fan im assuming its a small 80mm fan at about 15-30cfm im looking forward though to more posts and will be following good luck dude hope i could help.

"Vortex fan" is what is says on the box, and It is not wired to a cell phone charger...the extra cpu fan that I have lying around is the one wired to a cell charger! you can see the fan I have, and where it sits in the pics attached. Also, I've been leaving the closet door cracked open during the day, and my temps have now settled around 81 degrees f!!

Pic1: top view of fan resting among cut away
Pic2: fan removed, showing cut away
Pic3: looking down the hole
Pic4: fan view looking up from inside grow area
Pic5: quick snap of the ladies

Oh, all the pics need to be rotated 90 degrees to the right, but my laptop crashed the other day, and the one I'm using right now wont let me rotate them...sorry bout the crooked neck! (if you want, just copy the pics and paste into word and rotate away)

my mistake i thought u were using a computer fan wired to a cell charger for your extraction, i know those fans well there pretty strong for their size thats good ur temps settled but i must ask a really stupid question that fan is sucking air out of the box correct? the face of it that says "honeywell" appears to be facing inside the box... to my knowledge those fans do not have a reverse option... i could just be confused from the pics but non the less your shit is working so congrats and cant wait to see the harvest hope u post some pics! good job ;-)

The fan is actually blowing air down into the area, and it is the only entrance into the tent...all the air exits through two slits at the bottom of the tent. The fan it self is quite powerful, and I can see the ladies dancing around through the top hole/entrance. I would prefer to blow air in the opposite direction, however there's just no space for it...either way, you are correct, it is working so I don't plan on doing any major modifications till my next grow. Oh, and thanks...I can wait to see these buds fatten up as well!

is that vortex fan a must? i have a box like yours but dont have a fan right now..
Yes, definitely man...my temps reach 96-98f without it!! Also, I feel like the ladies really like the circulation of air around them. If anything it gives the plant a more natural environment'ish, but that's just my opinion!

Yo, got some updates...

...added another 26 watt cfl to the back corner of the tent. Also, I've turned plant 2 (the one on the right) around 180 degrees, that sounds weird, but now the cfls seem to hug plant 2 much more. If you've been following my previous posts/pictures, it will now appear as if plant 2 has a bunch of leaves where buds used to be, but have no fear friends, there just on the other side of the bushy leaves enjoying their new light. If you could see the lighting and pots for yourselves vs. just pictures, I'm sure this would make more sense...any way here's some shots, OH and I finally figured out how to rotate the fucking pictures...so no more crooked necks for you guys!

I keep my plants low and turn or reposition them everyday, That way I can inspect them and keep them happy, good luck with your grow, I'm in flower now and have a variety of lights so they get all the colors and they are happy, Happy plants make happy buds for me :)

got an update for you guys...

plant one (the one on the left) appears to be maturing faster than plant two (on the right)...Its buds are coated in more trichomes compared to plant one, and is swelling up faster...also, a few of the hairs on plant ones main cola have begun to turn red and die back, whereas plant two has all white hairs...either way, plant two appears to be developing well, but just not as fast as her sister to the left (plant one). Overall it looks like plant two is about 5 days behind plant one, so I'm predicting that I will harvest plant one first, and let plant two hang in the grow area for a little longer (when chopping time comes around).

pic 1 = plant one on the left (maturing faster), plant two on the right (taking her time to mature)
pic 2 - 4 = plant one, you can see a few red hairs, and many thrichs
pic 5 - 9 = plant two, shes got a lot of good under growth coming in...thrichs are decent, but not as much as plant one, and 100% white hairs
(both have a really good fruit scent, I seriously can't get enough of it, it smells so good)

enjoy, like, comment, thanks!
