Just added a heavy duty industrial fan right next to the passive intake on the outside of the tent to the left, lifted up and velcro'd the flap inside and threw a blanket over the whole thing to keep the light in that general area and not leak outside. Watered again and the mutant is looking kind of better but still not good, wilting over and the leaves dont have the thick full lines of a cannabis leaf anymore if you know what I mean? I have decided to add an electric heater because my minimum temp is 50 at the night and 78 throughout the day. So I added a portable heater for the number of hours the lights are off and have it on warm, should bump it up to about 70 or even 65 would be fine with me.

Since the mutant has wilted my friend has actually purchased a GSC clone only from the clubs around town, I think I am just going to toss the mutant(pluck it out of its current pot) and just transplant a clone of GSC in there.

Newest update! Okay guys, so the akr seedling that had one cotyledon died, as expected. Already have a new clone in its place, I am letting a friend hold onto it for a day to get a clone and then its all mine! I am ecstatic to be growing the clone only GSC I am definitely going to have GSC mother and BH mother, take 5 clones from each and do 12/12 from clone so 10 total hoping for a half o at least off each.

Went to the dope cup for 420 mate! Got to see a bunch of cool guys, including subcool! & Yes I am super excited to get the GSC, heard alot of people saying their are some fake cuts of gsc going around. Do you know what the original genetics are? I thought it was something like (f12 x durban poison) x cherry pie ? Got a lot of blue dream and about 10 grams of wax from yesterday so I am dabbin for a while Likewise my friend!

Not to sure what mainlining is but would love to hear about it, definitely going to check out your journal, I often find myself lost in the journals page I was in too much awe yesterday to take some pics of the GSC beauty. I got a beautiful looking clone, basically ready for flowering, at 19$ PER I could buy a few of these hahaha. Enough teasing, behold, the beauty ~ Girl Scout Cookies! ( also added some new fans to the setup, and finally got the aluminum foil tape )




So you can see that I added a tower fan on the rear poles, facing at an upward angle, it is moving the cool air from the ac toward the glass on the light, bouncing off the top and falling down on top of the plants. I also have two desktop fans on the front poles, facing towards the rear, angled at the plants, at just the right height so the air they move is pushed under the intake of the tower fan. I have one more ventilation access point in the top of the tent I can use, I read up that you should use a 120cfm fan for a 2x4x5 so I plan to purchase something like this in the near future;

It's a wee bit overkill, however I am getting tired of using 6 different fans, so I am also going to get something like this

I will just end up throwing one or two of those in the tent, depending on the power, as you can see in the picture, I actually have an industrial sized fan that could easily circulate all the air in the room outside the tent, I just position it right outside the passive intake and throw a blanket over it, this lowers the avg temp by around 3-5 degrees. Next grow I will be purchasing a whole other tent, probably a 2x3x7, then just throw a t12 or two, or perhaps a 250W MH light with cooltube. The extra 2ft in this tent would help with heat problems during veg which would be critical, I am pretty sure I could also utilize the AC unit for a second tent if I just added another set of ducting on it.

Would give you the abaility to run a fan-speed controller and maybe bring down noise a bit as well . Like the idea of the speed controller, however noise Isnt too much of a problem from the outside at the moment. More worried about keeping the air circulating and getting the fans set up. Will definitely consider that fan however, thanks for the link. As for the separate journal, I am up for it. Looking lower down on the GSC stem you can see purple areas on the stem so I am thinking it might be a previous nitrogen def. Will be monitoring this one very closely, just started to LST her and I will probably top in a few days after she bounces back. You can really smell the "cookie funk" smell when approaching this plant, and it's only in veg.

My tent in my journal is 4x4, but I only use about 3x3, gives you the extra room for fans, trays, etc. etc. Be careful of the duct fans, cheap yes, but not as efficient as the Inline fans. Yeah, I read the other day that they like a very light feeding of veg nutes, about 1/4 strength every 3rd watering. The stem was like that when I got it so hopefully it likes the humidity I've got going. I plan to setup a drip irrigation for all these girls. I am LSTing the GSC to grow like an S , have it tied down now and I will basically just wait a week and tie it to the other side. I will be topping in about a week or so as well, shooting for 6-8 tops. I have a screen for scrog I am thinking about adding to the tent when I am ready to start flowering, apparently the GSC doubles in height during flowering, that's why I am training it to grow like a snake before finally hitting the screen , allowing for maximum bud sites. I would be fine with an ounce and a half from her.

Heat is going back up to the 80's again, minimum 77 max is 82.4.... I am going to the hardware store to pick up more dryer ducting, going to run some 4" ducting from the ac alongside the other one into the light so it pushes frosty air through there. I really hope this helps increase the air flow as well as lower the temps. I can only assume its because the insulation in that room is basically close to none, if it is around 80 outside, you could expect it to be 90-100 inside, I figure this also plays a role on the air coming from the ac because it draws in from outside. I know that it cools down through the AC but cooler air in the first place would be better I assume.


I anticipated something like this would happen, this is why I positioned the GSC-OTM right next to the AC intake, its around 77 max and 70 minimum

This makes me feel alot better about the temps, I will start freakin if the tips are curling but it looks very content for now. I am using an old tennis net for my scrog screen, should I put this up during flowering only?

I only really have 3 feet of height to work with for the plants, so I am going to have to get the screen pretty close to the light, I am thinking about 2.5 feet above the top of the pots? Checked the temp about ten minutes ago;

Just finished reading the mainlining thread and wow, that guy is a genius. Not to sure what he did to make it split out like that though, I honestly just didn't understand. Does he just top above 2 nodes? Then lst to grow horizontal...?

I have a closet in my office and I am going to grab a sherbert clone and throw it in there with a t5 for a while, probably use it as a mothering area until I get a second tent. Been looking around on weedmaps for some decent clones from nearby clubs, unfortunately the only thing in my area seems to be GSC and sherbert, not that this is bad, just like a little diversity.

I saw these hydro spikes used for a tomato plant once and for house plants while people are on vacation ( here is a video of hydro spikes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kv4NPwmV7M ) I was wondering if I can use these throughout the plants life cycle, just hook it up to a tote with some water in it and refill the tote every once in a while. Seems like they would work?

And yes, Nugs is a genius! He tops for just the two, grows them out and tops again and so on. I tried yhe same with my op, but the Kush are too bushy so I had to grow out extra nodes and trim back afterwards

And you should grow from some seed if you can`t grow any other clones than those mentioned (I`d love to only have GSC though ... ), I`d be happy to send you some nice Kushes to sample or something similar, you have the space, and they stay short

I might try mainlining the gsc, does he just cut the main stem right above two nodes? I don't want to kill my one and only kiss-ass

I like growing from seed, this is the first batch of seeds I have ever got from a seedbank. From what I have heard, swerve's rep isn't all that good, and I will leave it at that(Not trying to start some drama here) However the BH was free, and I like what I see so far. I would like to add that I am in no way discrediting swerves abilities as a breeder. The autos sounded like a good idea at first, but upon further research, most autos take around the same day as a reg would if it was vegged for 2 weeks. On top of that 2 out of the three beans I got didn't work out. THAT being said, I would love to try some of the genetics you are working on my friend!

Oh, I took what you said into consideration about the duct boosters blowing better than pulling. I positioned the fan on the light so it is sucking in the air from the tent and blowing it through the light, which is exhausted out of the tent, works alright for now, but I will definitely need to grab one of those inline fans you posted.

Adding a new addition to the tent, some DIY drip irrigation, using gravity and water. I got a 2 liter coke bottle and taped it to the bars of the tent. I then used a lighter to heat up a screwdriver and made a hole in the cap for the tubing. Burnt the end of the tubing shut and poked about 2-3 small holes in the tubing, the GPH is approximately .7, put the tube in the coke bottle filled with water and suck on the end, water will start to gradually come out of the tube, eventually reaching .7gph then you just keep refilling and re-sucking lol.
