i know it might have been a bad idea possibly.. but to be honest the lower halves were getting barely any light. hell some leaves just fell off by barely touching them.. they seem happier now and light coverage is much improved hopefully the benefits will outweigh the bad.. cos the situation was getting bad. sonething had to be done. i'm never growing in the wardrobe again though.. unless its a short fat autoflower that doesn't stretch..... or a 100% indica 12/12 from fecking seed.. damn width/length issues....

ah not to worry dude, they can recover and you probably added a week or so extra to the grow with the recovery time but alls not lost yet..

be careful stressing them out tho, it can cause issues like going hermmi on you, and thats the last thing you want is a load of seeded weed, still smokeable but not ideal...

you do get seeds tho...hahahahahhaa...
i don't mind adding a week for recovery if it helps.. the lower space issue was quite dire. wish i had a before/after shot!

I always chop off my undergrowth cloud. You did not cut too much no worries. Now you will force growth to the tips and not on the lower stuff that will never fully develop.

Ever consider a scrog? Really helps with a small cab grow and keeps the plants short and even, maximizing light coverage. My plants are around 16 inches tall including buckets. Check them out in my sig if you like. Or if your not adverse to it I'll post some of my pics for you here.

They are definitely going to blow up in the next couple weeks and you'll see the benefits to lollipoppin them. Peace

i actually just checked that one since you just updated! it's looking lovely! but as for my own, i wanted to keep my first grow to be as natural as possible so i could get a proper sense of how the plant grows before i start manipulating it's structure. but cfl's and general bushiness forced my hand. although my second grow i will be trying out those techniques and i've got your journal and a few others in a techniques bookmark folder i will be using as a guide! also cheers for that, settled my nerves a bit! also i have no problem with people posting anything on my journal, pics included! 8D

Thanks for stopping by the journal man. Feel free to post whatever you like over there, real laid back vibe. So many journals out there I just try to look for people I have something in common with to follow. Your on the list for sure, gotta pay respect to a fellow FF'er! Peace

hold your horses ae86! due to continuous frustration with space and lighting the bottom half and leaf bloody burn. i lollipopped my girls.. oh god did i what.. i think i went too far... the second i think is fine but the (originally) bigger one.. i went mental! lol pics coming up
You should only ever take of the bottom 6 branches max.

lollipoping plnats is best reserved for sativas. deffinitly the best way to grow em.

with your cfls i get it tho.

ae86 is right about you doing well for a new grower. usually they are all crapp.yoyrs is smooth compared to most.

and i told you how my first one turned out. 10 years later, i grow shit that will make your head spin. Growing will be eazy after a few more times.

no worries tho. you havent made any seriously fucked up beginner mistakes (overfeeds). keep your head up, you are doing great

However, i just saw the picture.

strip off those bottom branches completly. just cut em off. taking leaves off of em is not going to help if those branches.are still there. chop the bottom 4 branches.

It will. I never did this for years until starting growing satori. and plants with stripped bottoms always do better. their tops always develop much better. less energy wasted on popcorn.

this method is unneccesary on indicas, however it does the same thing on indicas as it does sativas.

and now your plant wont be nearly as shocked, trying to recover from lost leaves. all in all, your buds will be denser.

and really, bottom branches should be stripped when using cfls. light will hardly make it down to the bottom.

i wouldnt have suggested it if it wont help. i like seeing your grow succeed.

Sorry things are not going according to plan Cloudy, I havnt heard of really or tried this lollipopping business so have to sit in the background rather than pretend I know anything about it, however you got some good growers in here keeping you right. On a cheerier note your autos are looking very perky.

what happened? timer went out? something you had blocking light fell down over them?

just set your timers back to your schedule as in same time lights on and off and let them stay going at that cloudy, fingers crossed they stay cool....;)

i only have one timer and one place for total darkness so my two prized top dawgs get that. by the way they're looking sweet today. bud sites are obvious and they're still stretching. it's like they recovered instantly from the mass prunage. and nah the two cheese autos that were covered had a few pages fall on them from above. they're unharmed! i really wish i was able to do the autos on 18/6 but that just aint possible here.. they're on 24/0.. not at all optimal but it'll do!
