Is there a gender pay gap?

"maybe you should review the studies where identical resumes from men with children and women with children result in more men's resumes being reviewed."

I wonder why a company might prefer men over women in this situation? Can you think of a plausible reason, Marie?

A question, Marie: I realize that you probably have little experience with resumes, given your leisurely lifestyle, but who lists their children on a resume?

Why would a person list their children on a resume. Maybe if they are applying to be a sperm/egg donor; I can't think of another reason.

"New research by compensation analysts at Payscale might hearten working women while lowering the temperature on the whole issue."

War on wiminz!!!
and when their reasearch found a pay gap between men and women, what was there totally scientific explanation, backed up by zero empirical data whatsoever?

ummm, uhhh, it may be because men work harder and whatnot.

fucking brilliant. have fun with your blog posts, rat.

their*

I don't normally correct typos but seeing as how you are such a condescending, nit-picking douche-bag, well it just seems appropriate in your case.

To answer your spittle flecked question, they offer perfectly plausible reasons for pay differences. Like it or not, Marie, women are more prone to take time off from work to care for children, it's part of the human condition. Sheryl Sandberg apparently makes a similar point in her book.

"Sheryl Sandberg famously encouraged women to be more aggressive about getting ahead in her recent bestseller "Lean In.""

OP McRatfink's own blog admits that they do just as often as men, then it blames them for not asking enough and encouraging them to "lean in".

of course, to an unremitting failure like the OP, this is some sort of trump card to thousands of studies and decades of empirical data.

I dont get the complaining.
you would if you were paid less on average for the same work, or if you could feel empathy.

You dont like your pay its a free country, get another job.
where they can start at a lower pay rate and face the same pay discrimination?

GENIUS!

why has no one thought of this before?

Worked for me all my life. Of course I am able to use my secret white guy handshake.
white privilege is empirically verifiable, ya know.

but do make light of it.

I have. They are a waste of time unless you are intentionally trying to not get hired by waxing on nostalgically about your kids. Sounds like something you would do.
waxing nostalgic?

i could mention being a father in three words or less.

"As a father, bla bla bla pointing out positive characteristics like patience bla bla bla"

cover letters done right only serve to supplement a resume and pique interest. many employers won't look at a resume without a cover letter.

even i know that, and i've been all but retired for years now.

That's pretty good, Marie. A useless left wing internet troll is able to retire on his tax-free "cost reimbursements"!

piss, moan, whine. If you have the same skills as a man you get paid the same. To not do that as a business owner is stupid. You dont want your good employees to leave.
My wife has had 4 80k+ jobs in the last 7 years. shes over 100k now. She quits when she doesnt like it and gets another job. And she is in HR and sees the numbers and never once complained that billy bob is making more money.
But then again shes not in the typing pool so I dont know about what the unskilled labor market is like. thats more your speed. You pay unskilled replaceable labor the least you can. Who gives a shit? You can weed out the 95% who suck anyway and are barely worth min wage and take the other 5% and move them up the ladder. If 50% of the 95% quit you get more drones.

These are the same women that want me to pay for their birth control since they cant keep their gashes closed; for some reason its my problem.

I dont see what the big deal is. You are a tax evading shit bird that dribbles on about how the government should pay for everything yet you dodge those taxes that pay for those goodies.
Id be ok seeing you shitting your self in club fed. Not so much for the tax evasion but for just being a general hypocrite douche-bag.

women should be paid just as much as men do, that being said they should work the same amount of time to get to the point where the man counter part is. though it has to be a change that is seen to promote the fact that, business is tough, you cant run a business based off your feelings and sympathies of you want to help every last soul. it would defeat the purpose of having a business in the first place.

Really, Marie, you pay $500 for a green house and then get reimbursed that $500. How does that let one retire at age 30? You should write a book, "How to retire at 30 on reimbursements alone".

it's not too late, you've still got time to do what you said you were going to do last year and show us how cheap and easy it is.

go ahead, you might actually learn something instead of just bleating whatever glenn beck and yahoo blogs are talking about.

you're the only one here depending on social welfare programs.

ya know, the social security that you paid an impossible amount into and got busted on your lie? remember that? when cheesus busted you in yet another lie?

i remember that.

empirically false, even according to OP's yahoo blog post.

These are the same women that want me to pay for their birth control since they cant keep their gashes closed; for some reason its my problem.
these are the same women paying for your boner pills on their lower wages because you are an impotent limp dick and somehow that's their problem.

the only difference is that the birth control is preventive medicine and saves everyone money in the end, your limp dick fixer uppers only serve to coddle your delicate ego while you're feverishly trying to achieve an erection while fucking a hired mustachioed hooker.
