Hey, that shit looks good beech... but shore line schmore line. Every year I end up with at least one cut peeps are falling all over themselves for (that have actually tried it) by popping lots of beans. You'll never find something different smoking the same cut all the time.

or maybe I should try growing sour grapes :eyesmoke:

Yeah but I think a lot of people if they find their favorite personal strain want to keep it around... i know for me once I find my preferred pheno on my fave strain, that shit's never going away. that doesn't mean i'm gonna grow just that, but I wanna keep it around always to have :)

Not a bad idea, but I'm betting more than 50% of the people wanting shoreline haven't even had shoreline.

There will always be greener grass on the other side of the fence, and always a new strain on the horizon. Getting a great cut is sweet, discovering a great cut is even sweeter.

I'm also kind of an old dude so i've seen favorites go. Bye bye lumbo gold, maui wowie and thai stick, hello shoreline, bubba and lemon larry. by all means hold what you like, I'f you get the devil's harvest beans and the cut you should be set. Cross a few males from the beans to the cut and you would likely have a great back up of approximations for your whole life.

You have a point and I remember asking on here if someone would take a cutting and keep her alive, one guy wanted to.This will be a bean project with the Afghanica Male.I killed what a few of us thought was the last mom.I want to have some beans to backcross with and then it's on to more exotic's, oldschool exotic's mostly though.

Sometimes it get's difficult to keep a cut going though, going out of town and just pure monotiny(sic).

Yeah I hear that... i'm having to retake cuts in flower because my first round didn't take and of course the ones that are looking the most bomb the cuts didn't make it

Nice raider... were those gdp all cuttings from the same mom or a bunch of different gdp grown from seed? Really nice resin production, better than the pics of GDP from Ken's grow room in high times recently :)

There are people that have been holding strains for 17 plus years...the vigor does/will fade...but.. if you can keep a cut for a YEAR I salute you...I've been in tight fixes where I had to clone mature seedlings...clip the 1st two node sprouts & go for broke...& that was just to keep my efforts going...

I had real good luck this run on the plants that I trimmed multiple nodes off the branches for topping and tieing down... they would've made great cuts but stupid me didn't use them for that because I didn't want to hassle with doing it... going forward it's how i'm gonna do all my cuts... take the first top when it's grown enough to have 2 or 3 nodes to take, then do the same with the side branches, then the same... if the top cola cut takes I don't have to worry about keeping any others or taking a shitload of clones... if it doesn't take I got 2 more... then 4 more... then 8 more... ;)

this run i'm flowering my first cut that is over a year old... but i didn't keep it alive I recently got it back from another grower who's had it since my first run :) unfortunately i let it get too cold in veg and it stunted it permanently due to the main stalk turning purple.. it recovered but the main stalk never got more than 1/2" wide because of the damage... will have to do better on the next run.

But yeah it takes a stable setup to keep clones going. I've lost all of mine due to various shutdowns at different times. That's why it's always good to spread your genetics :)

^^^ forgot to mention that almost done plant was a throwaway 8" cut I tossed into flower in a 1.5g pot with no nutes... transplanted into a 3g w/ 'modified' super soil in week 3 when all N was depleted from the soil
