he was a marxist, a muderous thug, his wife ran the show while he was in lock-lock, and killed more blacks than they every did whitey, his "struggle" was about power and control, not freedom or liberation, unless you wish to use the "liberation" of marxism, which most would call dictatorship.
prison mellowed him, but he never can be anything but what he was, a left wing murderer with blood all over his hands.

“Nelson Mandela just died,” O’Reilly said. “I don’t know if you’re aware. Ninety-five years old. Nelson Mandela — I spent some time in South Africa, he was a communist, this man. He was a communist. But he was a great man anyway. The sacrifices he made for his people were just stunning. But he was a communist. A great man, but a communist.”
“I would never attack Nelson Mandela,” O’Reilly continued. “I told Bishop Tutu, who’s like that too, but I told him ‘I respect you.’ Why can’t you guys in the Republican Party bring that to the forum?”
O'Reilly says what he says for ratings, fame and money. He doesn't even believe the shit that comes out of his mouth.
I think there is an agenda.
Look how desperate he is to label. It doesn't even matter that he is accidentally correct in calling him a commie. The argument is still invalid. It is part of the slippery slope that these mouth breathing buffoons love so much. The agenda is to associate all of the left with authoritarianism and to therefore render right-wing politics synonymous with liberty. The result would be that the buzzwords and dog whistles conjure up an image of violence.
He's a communist, therefore he's a marxist authoritarian socialist, therefore he's a murderer, therefore apartheid is liberty. This is how dog whistles become political silver bullets.

You have worked yourself into a froth, AC. Mandela was a communist and a Marxist, but I think he did that in an "enemy of my enemy" way. He certainly seems to have backed off on the communism after he was released from prison and elevated to the presidency.
As long as the left is intent on confiscating the wealth of some to give 20% of it to others, while appropriating the other 80% as a finder's fee, the left will indeed be violent. The right is just as bad, and just as violent. I prefer Libertarianism.
O'Reilly is a blowhard. That is all.
There are no libertarians in the GOP. You're not a libertarian. You're a teagagger.
