I would have kept that $31.00/hr job and had the wife stay home since she makes so little. Over $64,000 a year was pretty good money. I don't know where you live, but that pay is enough to support a family just about anywhere. Your boss offering you incentives is not a "hustle", it's a benefit most people would have been happy to have. And being underwater doesn't make your mortgage go up. And if you did a short sale, you escaped that loss entirely. Sounds like you made a rather common mistake. You may have bought too much house. Watching HGTV will do that to you. Sounds like you just didn't get along with your boss. Sometimes you just have to put up with it for the sake of your family. I've had jobs I hated, but I found another one before I quit. Maybe you didn't set out to be using your kid, but a couple mistakes or bad choices sure put you in that position. I'm being pretty charitable, considering what you said about my children

I generally start the evening at 25%, as the service progresses, I knock a few percent off each time the waiter/waitress fucks up. I've left no tip before. But generally I leave between 20% to 25%, and if they are really good and really cute, I leave up to 50%.
I tip 15% take it or leave it. 20% at the bar...,but I do round up. I don't see it as service rendered, I see it as a stupid custom that is not practiced in most other places in the world but is being adopted because silly Amerikienski are plopping down the change and small bills and jacking the global economy even to that that level.

Sick to me to have these people on arbitrary show for pay. Even a Ho gets paid first. But, this is the system, so I see it as I have pay this overprice for the food, plus part of the wait staff pay, also.

I detest eating in restaurants except in England and there only out for Curry.

I don't take joy in the death of children, just what you felt when you lost yours. You should have never made a comment about who should be able to have children and who shouldn't, especially knowing the feeling of losing two.
Let me get this sick idea straight in my head. So, you did feel joy at his lose? Just some tap dance parsing about not joy that the kids died but joy at the fact that the dad suffered this horrible, and beyond words, LOSE. This kind of lose can kill people with grief.

And you don't even know this person to propose such a cowardly thing, hiding in forum like you are.

And you expressed this schadenfreude, this sick glee over a comment about who should have kids? And you see that as a moral equivalent?.

Seems sociopaths to me. Makes it look like you need a Doctor.

Schadenfreude [SUP]i[/SUP]/ˈʃɑːdənfrɔɪdə/ (German: [ˈʃaːdənˌfʁɔʏdə]) is pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.[SUP][1][/SUP]

See, that's what I mean. The homely get the short end of the stick. Doesn't it bother you that you're treating the less than attractive as second class? Or did you just never think about it that way? I know most us men think with our little head instead of our bigger head.
I will leave 20-25% to the less attractive waitress if she did a great job, and I am quite fair about that. I leave more to the more attractive waitress because I can afford it. Why do you care so much about what I do with my money?

Really? You're homophobic? ....... "Not that there is anything wrong with that." = "I'm not racist, I have a Black friend (or "client")"
I am in no way homophobic. But it seems you are. You spend some of your time on this site driving good people away by insulting their significant others. And at the same time fantasize about gargling my seed. Are you offering to cook me breakfast after?

My opinions: 1) there is poking fun and then there is nastiness beyond the pale.
2) "The other guy did it too" is not a compelling moral argument.
No. Eye for an eye is a moral and sometimes respectable form of punishment. Compassion is dead for people like Red1966.

WTF Carne died or was he banned?
No, he left because of people like Red1966.

I tip where ever I go. I think it shows a sign of respect to the person who was proving me a service. If it was shitty service, they get a shitty tip.

Hey, I didn't know there were English words, for evil joy, also.

Nathan Bailey's 18th-century Universal Etymological English Dictionary, for example, contains an entry for epicharikaky that gives its etymology as a compound of ἐπί epi (upon), χαρά chara (joy), and κακόν kakon (evil).[SUP][4][/SUP][SUP][5][/SUP] A popular modern collection of rare words, however, gives its spelling as epicaricacy.[SUP][6]
[/SUP]
An English expression with a similar meaning is Roman holiday, a metaphor from the poem Childe Harold's Pilgrimage by George Gordon, Lord Byron, where a gladiator in Ancient Rome expects to be "butchered to make a Roman holiday" while the audience would take pleasure from watching his suffering. The term suggests debauchery and disorder in addition to sadistic enjoyment.[SUP][7][/SUP]

Another phrase with a meaning similar to Schadenfreude is "morose delectation" ("delectatio morosa" in Latin), meaning, "The habit of dwelling with enjoyment on evil thoughts."[SUP][8][/SUP] The medieval church taught that morose delectation was a sin.[SUP][9][/SUP][SUP][10][/SUP] French writer Pierre Klossowski maintained that the appeal of sadism is morose delectation.[SUP][11][/SUP][SUP][12]

[/SUP]

An English word of similar meaning is gloating, where gloat means "to observe or think about something with triumphant and often malicious satisfaction, gratification, or delight" (gloat over an enemy's misfortune).[SUP][13][/SUP] Gloating is differentiated from Schadenfreude in that it does not necessarily require malice (one may gloat to a friend about having defeated him in a game without ill intent) and that it describes an action rather than a state of mind (one typically gloats to the subject of the misfortune or to a third party).

I lived in Portland, one of the most expensive places to live compared to the average income, My GF worked before the baby came which was not exactly planned, and I'm not a piece of shit so I stayed and didn't force her to get rid of it, going from one income to two is hard, you know the feeling. is 220,ooo too much house? I lived in the hood, my house was a 3 br no bath w/o a garage made and made in the 60's, mortgage might not go up but the property taxes do, especially when you have the conservatives in my area passed a law requiring your property taxes to go up even if your house is losing value. So when your mortgage starts out 1200 a month when you first buy your home and then slowly creeps up to 1700 over the course of a few years, so like most americans I thought that refinance would be the answer, take advantage of those low interest rates you know, got it back down to a manageable number and we did, just to watch it rise up again to 1,700. They call it a incentive I call it a hustle, Their big thing about was that " The harder you work the more money you will make" ok sounds great, except when they tell you how your incentive is calculated. I was a framer, we had a production that we were expected to meet which we always met, but then they say if you meet this number we will give you extra this amount, and the higher the production number the more you make O.K until you get that first incentive check and ask how was this calculated and they tell you your incentive is based on the hours that you worked on that task. wait, what? let me break it down for you if you still don't get it after that.

There's 1000 lineal feet of wall on a floor, our normal rate of production is 8 LH/hour so it should take 125 MH to complete the floor. but what if I was to frame 10 feet an hour, that would be 100 hours.

1000/8LF= 125 mh

1000/10LF=100 mh * $1.00= $100

1000/12LF= 83 mh* 1.00= 83.00

as you can see the harder I work, the less Incentive I make, so where is the incentive, so they can make a killing off of me. It would have been different If they would have been all up front about it, instead when I bring it up and they tell me if I don't like it they can get someone else to do it... O.K see yah, there's no one else in the company that framed faster than me and my partner so have fun with that. I have more dignity than to let someone take advantage of me like that, but you probably would have stayed and let them rape your hard work like that huh. My GF wasn't ready to be a mother at that time and was having trouble with it, postpartum depression sucks, and it was getting worse her staying home all day, so for the sake of the family WE made the decision for me to stay at home while she worked and it has been that way ever since.

Personally, I am saddened by the habit of men, and women, tipping older, less attractive waitresses much less than young, attractive waitresses, Tips are supposed to be a reward for good service, not payment for looking pretty.
In my defense, when this happened, I was at a Hooters.

lol,, you claim you're not homophobic and use a homophobic slur in the same line. You claim you're fair about tipping because " I leave more to the more attractive waitress because I can afford it." So if a business pays their white employees more "because they can afford it" it's perfectly fair? You knew nothing about carne when you made your statements, so don't pretend that justifies your behavior. You still know nothing about carne, you're pretending you do for convenience. You're a liar.

All I ever heard from carne was whining and bitching about he didn't get all his friends money after he died. Didn't seem like he gave a damn about anything else other than the money and the house. Later he claims his friend was killed for being gay, but after and only after I accused him of being a callous gold digger. I saw it as a lame attempt at
you are quite alone in that impression.
You bumped your friking head, that's all Carne did was whine.

Well, is he required to show class? Or is he even attempting to? Perhaps he is even attempting not to show class, for whatever reason?

Perhaps this forum is a form of utopia?

A truly classless society.

You should have given up her income, the lesser, not yours. $220,000 apparently was too much, tho millions made that mistake. STOP WATCHING HGTV!! They don't show those buyers two years later after buying that $220,000 home and putting $150,000 in "renovations" losing the home to foreclosure because their $65,000/yr income couldn't pay it. Those people get qualified for X amount, so they go and spend every bit of it. A lender qualified me for a $330,000 mortgage, but I'm not even going to consider spending half that. But $1700 a month for mortgage was well within your budget until you quit your job. Taxes went up because of too much government spending, blaming it on Conservatives is silly. The government has to pay their bills or the garbage starts piling up in the streets. I don't see where the incentive was in that incentive plan. I just see a straight hourly rate. I wouldn't have quit, I just would stop working harder than the others. I know what you mean about the difficulty of planning housing expenses. My insurance went from $700 a year to $1700+ in the first year. Home insurance in Florida is outlandish. Many pay more for the insurance than they do for the mortgage. You need to go back to work. Your GF's part time job isn't going to support the three of you, it might not even support just one of you. The postpartum depression was gone 18 months ago. Not marrying the mother of your children just so she can qualify for welfare is shameful. Celebrating the deaths of innocent children is beyond shameful.

The VA said they would qualify me for a $800,000 home. That is fucking ridiculous. I ended up buying a smaller home (1800 sq ft) with a big garage for $86K. Several years ago I took over the family farm and rent that house out for 3x what the payments were.

Pourquoi? Etes-vous choqué à mon manque d'avance vers vous?
I dropped out of French class. Actually, they threw me out for making fun of the teacher's southern drawl. Try it in English. I promise not to make fun of your accent.
