Light Trap... a cardboard box taped against your vents with the bottom side cut out... mesh stockings over the bottom that you removed as a dust blocker. Air can pass up thru the mesh and thru your vent... the light cannot travel around the angles of the box. Kinda hard to explain in words.

a 400 in a 3x3? I rock a 250 in my 2.5x2.5... I think you'll be fine with the 400 with that being said, more light is better as long as you can control your tempratures
