You should be able to find the 2700K low wattage CFL's at a variety of places...even supermarkets sell them but I'd suggest you invest in either a HPS or a conversion bulb for your mh.

I've heard of vinegar being used but I still think the ph. up for aquariums is better cos it's designed not to fuck with the biosystem. I'm not sure someone if would pour vinegar into their fish tank.

I haven't come across any statistics but you have to keep in mind thousands upon thousands of people use these lights for thousands of hours on end! I tend to be a bit paranoid myself so pls dn't feed off my paranoia :P Most people will tell you it's completely safe : )

This plant grew two 3 leaved nodes, then one giant leaf, then decided to top itself :P It looks much better now, happily growing outside : )

There's always a slight danger when using these lights, but it has nothing to do with whether or not it has a built in ballast. The most important things to remember are not to touch the globe with your hands or get anything on it. Putting it in a closet doesn't cause any danger in itself.

I've used ph. down designed for aquariums. I just dilute it into water and check the ph. Have had no problems as of yet.

If the fluoro is pointing down toward your soil the plant isn't going to benefit from the light, only reason I pointed it out :P. If it's a space issue then maybe try pointing the light upwards. Your grow space looks pretty large for the amount of light you're using as well. Any reason why you...

Some HPS systems have built in ballasts, this looks like this is one of them. The only downside is that it weighs more and presumably creates more heat. I would get a HPS system where you can place your ballast outside the grow room so it doesn't add to any temperature issue you may experience.

It really depends on how much you want to get out of the plant. You can flower at any stage but for an optimal crop I'd wait a bit longer. How much light are you using, nutes? also is that a fluoro resting on your pot?

How old is it? I've had 3 week old runts grow into giants. It's just a matter of being patient. Happy growing :)

How long has it been in flower for? You could always top it, go back to veg, LST it and then back into flower after it recovers. It all depends on how much of a problem the size of the plants is and how patient you are :P

I do it at the 5th node, I've read that it's better to do it when they're young. Your plant will be a bit stressed out in the first couple of days after topping but after 10 or so days they recover. GL :)
