The first week of 12/12 isn't actually flowering and shouldn't be counted towards the 8 week flowering period. This is why so many people chop too early because they think they're on week 8 when it's really week 7. Flowering starts when you see pistils forming, not when you start 12/12

I've never seen females do that. The flowers always form on top of the stem, never the side. Any side growth is either new fan leaves or pollen sacks.
