Iso is the best and easiest way to make good hash. You can find the 99% iso in most grocery stores. And you don't really need to grind up the weed before making. I just use whole buds ( depending on size ) and wash them ( swirl the jar ) for 30 sec...filter through cheesecloth and viola ! Coffee...

I grow a BB X NL for just that reason. Smell. ( and BB is my fave anyway ) My plants even in end flower, smells like scented berry candles. No odor control necessary. Harvesting is any matter...but I just burn toast all day. Fried chicken is another good smell cover.

Cold has the opposite effect. Last 2 weeks of flowering I keep my girls cold during night ( mid 40s to low 50s ) makes the bud rock hard and gooey. You have foxtailing due to heat or genetics. Fix ASAP or the end result will be disappointing. Too much N can also sometimes cause this.

If it's a clone ( which it looks like ) that's normal. The bottom stuff dying off is normal. The plant is drawing nutes from them as it expends energy rooting. Once rooting gets well under way it should all turn green again. If it stays that way that's not normal. ( or if it's not a clone )...

If you have good foliage your plant ( buds ) should never know the difference. I have no problem with the plant cannibalizing the leaves. It's not affecting bud growth. Leaves are not there just for photosynthesis....they are little nute storage units. I just know that after years of growing...

Oh If you happened to watch that episode of TPB. Maple syrup does really work...it does leaves large crystal formations as the iso evaporates ( The actual sugar ) but you can filter it out. I just had to try it. But plain is delicious enough.
