I believe I am now in the flowering stage! What to do?

If you used a veg nute while nute-watering you will want to flush her to leach out the veg nutes. After flushing, it might be a good idea to water with straight H2O for a week before starting the flower nutes. Good luck, BigSteve.

    Indaca or afghan ?

That's like asking if a car is a Chevy or a GM product. There are 3 main species of our plant - sativa, indica and ruderalis. Afghan is a subspecies of indica, eh? If the plant is Afghani it is also indica. BigSteve.

    eating fresh buds

I started munching buds when a lung infection sidelined my smoking priviledges a couple years ago. Takes 2-3 hours to get off but I really enjoyed the enhanced physical properties. I think a majority of the potency disappears when the product is eaten instead of smoked, though. BigSteve.

    Sugarleaves....Good Smoke.

I've found trim from sugar leaves to be just as potent as the buds themselves. Only real difference is that the trim tends to be harsher. BigSteve.

    Cloning rookie

I would recommend jiffy pellets over rockwool. Reason is that one of the biggest problems for new cloners is getting the proper degree of wetness in the growing media. With the darker pellets it is easier to gauge media wetness. I prepare a pellet by soaking for 5 minutes in warm water then...

    Bagseed / BagWeed ( your experiences )

I've found that most of the time the product I've grown from bagseed is better than the original product. My MJ guru, Jorge Cervantes, says that is because large operations do not handle the product in ways that increase potency. Wholesale growers tend to just throw the product around without...

    revegging big plants

The best type of plant to re-grow is not necessarily the biggest plants. The best feature to look for while perusing re-grow candidates is the amount of greenery around the base of the plant. You want to see a bunch of small branches right above the dirt level for best re-growing. A few years...

The germ step takes how long time normally

I germ seeds via paper towel method. After 3 days sealed in a baggie the beans will have a one inch or so white taproot sticking out of 95% of the seeds. About the only time I don't get 3 day sprouters is when I'm trying some bagseeds of unknown heritage. Note -- when I put the sprouters first...

Can a Clone from a Auto Flower make a small batch of seeds? Is this possible?

Cuttings for clones are taken from plants that are in veg mode. Autos don't have a veg cycle - they go straight from seedling to flowering mode. Non-autos can be cloned from flowering mode but it is dicey and takes forever. To make that work you have to force the flowering plant back into veg...

    Harvesting week :)

Flushing with MiracleGro is no problem. I use a 5 gallon bucket with an oven screen on top. Put plant on the screen so the runoff goes into the bucket. I flush a 3 gallon pot with 3 gallons of water. Some use more. Leave the pot draining until dripping is done. Then tip the pot gently so you can...

    Spidermites

"Omg this is the worst information I've seen to date on r.I.u." Rory, I spent 15 years at UCLA as an animal tech. in the research labs. Sevin dust is so benign that it was vet-approved for direct bedding of rodents. Means the product is so tame that it was approved for direct use on research...

    Spidermites

Sevin dust is available at any home % garden store. Comes in a shaker-type jar like cleanser. Just shake a bit of the dry powder over your plants and mites will be gone. Safe even on pets and children, sevin dust does the job! BigSteve.

    Cloning

Was donor mom at least 5 weeks in dirt? For me that is the break-off point -- cuttings from younger moms don't root as well as cuttings from an older mom. After years of experimenting I've settled on a rooting gel rather than a powder. Had too many problems with the powder forming a hard little...

    Harvesting week :)

    1. Flush 10-14 days before harvest. You want to leach the nutes out of the plants' system to avoid a chemical taste left by some nutes. I suggest not letting a plant go dry before harvest as that will make harvesting more time consuming. Reason is that small sugar leaves will curl up and stick...

    What size pots?

Getting clones into dirt is easier than when seedlings first go into dirt. Seedlings should first go into a solo cup or another micro-pot. Your clones will be going from cups to a pot. First transplanting of the clones should be into a pot that is roughly twice as deep as the solo cup it came...

    help and advice please.

A 1000W bulb should cover an 8 x 8 foot room. A 600W bulb should cover a 6 x 6 foot room. I think you are thinking too much lighting, especially this time of year in tents. I would be comfortable using one 1000W bulb in a 2 meter tent and a single 600W bulb in the smaller tent. You will have...

    12 inch sativa plant yield?

"Thanks, and i just added 34 more watts of cfl. And im adding a 13 watt bulb tomorrow. How much would this increase my yields?" More light, or closer to the light, will increase bud size and quality. It is a step in the right direction but hard to quantify. Good luck, BigSteve.
