Update on my first grow let me know what you think!

Hard to get an accurate picture of those plants under the red spectrum HPS lighting but they look nice and healthy. If this is your first grow, you have done better than most. Your setup looks nice and clean as well.

Dual hose Portable AC unit and long runs of exhaust duct: Booster fan on the exhaust?

I recently purchased a 14,000 BTU Hydrofarm Active Air portable air conditioner and I'm having some trouble figuring out how to go about exhausting it. This unit will be standing in the basement so windows to build an exhaust port into are far away from the unit. To place it where I need it, I...

    Newbieeeezzzz

Can you get your hands on a computer fan? Maybe salvage some from sold old broken electronics? If you could rig up some decent ventilation in there you would be on a good path. Without decent ventilation you're going to have all sorts of issues and the odor will get worse and worse with heat...

    Leaves curling under help

Usually over watering but I've had plants do it just from a normal watering and then perk back up again within hours. It seems this happens to all the plants that are being hardened due to change from veg room to flower room but then stops happening after a few weeks of flower. We need pics.

white widow feminized week 7 flowering plz help first time growing

Pistils can turn color just from a day of letting your medium dry out too much, or from leaves rubbing against them, or even from pollination. Never go by pistils only.

    Lots of yellow

While I agree with 99% of everything you just said, I am still very confident that Roots Organics nutes must be pH'ed. I forgot to mention in my previous post that the Aurora Innovations rep who deals with my local hydro shop even told me this. I wouldn't normally take a rep's advice on growing...

    Lots of yellow

Coming from over a year of using the entire Roots lineup across 100s of plants I have come to find the following through trial and error: -The 5 mil program is terrible. The nutrients however are not. Follow the recommendations on the bottles and forget the 5 mil program. Go with your own "15...

The man and the ice hash.

Have any of you guys tried those Chinese washing machines to work your material? My last batch (first time using the machine) turned out to be 5 times better than any of my dozen or so previous batches. I watched a bunch of Matt Rize vids on youtube and decided to try his methods of using the...

white widow feminized week 7 flowering plz help first time growing

Wait til those pistils recede. My Greenhouse Seed Co. White Widow takes 11 weeks and it looks very similar to yours so I'm guessing we probably have the same phenotype. Do you have access to a pocket-scope or at least a magnifying glass? If you absolutely can't wait, cut of a small branch to...

I would think seed bombs would be a fool-proof solution. Do some research on seed bombs

how long does it take to get hard card

So my card came in yesterday. The certified mail slip had a date of 4-19 and I received the card yesterday on 5-9. Like I was told on the phone, the card IS good for two years with an expiration date of 05/2015. They actually technically gave me 2 years and 2 months because the beginning date is...

how long does it take to get hard card

I called the LARA office and spoke to a woman on the phone and asked her a few questions. According to her, they will accept old paperwork so long as the doctors signature is before April 1st. They will be sending 2 year cards to anyone who has a certified mail date on or after April 1st. If you...

Bud Candy HELP...Can't see trichs!..WHAT A STICKY MESS!

My friend did exactly this and it worked out wonderfully. In fact, he made it a year ago and it's still smoking today. I don't know why this other fella in this thread is in hysterics about it, but seriously, DOO EET! It's awesome and it's all natural. Get some hemp wick to go with it and you'll...

My crystal ball is telling me you have done too good of a job at keeping this plants medium moist. Let er dry a bit and this problem might just go away so it can get back to some growth.

    Can anyone identify this?

You shouldn't be phing your RO water. RO water has such a low ph buffer ability because it's 0-5 ppm of total dissolved solids. In any organic soil, the plants roots and the soil controls the ph. Your ph balancing should be done before you cook (compost) your soil. As for what the problem is in...

i'm just curious does a carbon filter really eliminate the smell completely

Just make sure the filter is rated high enough to handle the cubic footage of your spot. To determine cubic footage use this formula: FIGURE A: WIDTH X LENGTH X HEIGHT = TOTAL CUBIC FEET My room is 12' wide x 14' long x 7' high so my total cubic footage would be FIGURE B: 12' X 14' X 7' =...

Anyone going or have been to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Conference?

Wish I had MMJ friends who weren't so broke! My current card will be expired by then and I have to wait for my new one to come in :( I'm sure I could still get in with it in combination with my doctors cert but I can't afford a hotel by myself :/ I might be able to talk a buddy into going. If I...

Removing large numbers of ladybugs from plants at harvest time?

That is genius! I might just buy a brand new small vaccuum just for this purpose. Thanks! Exactly the type of answer I was hoping for! Thats what I'm doing now but I have so many that they are all over the containers too. It's near impossible to shake these containers off without making a huge...
