    cxa3070s@350mA orientation

When I started soldering I was using a 25w weller with Home Depot solder on little arduino pins and it didn't work out to well. I found that the solder was WAY too thick and I could not get it to work. I also found that I needed to get into tighter spaces than my irons tip would allow me to fit...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

3 wires, if they were wired correctly from the start (you should test this) then the black is line, white in neutral and the 3rd green wire is ground. If the bare metal casing is actually contacting the metal heat sink then that would work, most steel casings I seen are powdercoated which...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

The ground wire is the 3rd wire on a 3 prong plug. A 2 prong plug has no ground wire, usually the wire is green in North America. To ground your heat sink make sure you connect your ground wire from your wall to the driver and heatsink. If you have the if the drivers are in a metal case or...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I'd suggest getting yourself a 15a outdoor digital timer that has a battery backup(they probably all do). I have two, one is going on 10 years without fail the other is 3 years old and both do their job well. Mine are similar to this, just a different brand (Noma). I never trusted those cheap...

You could also bend some coat hanger into a sort of "U" shape and screw it to the board. I bent one to show you. Just attach the fan to the hanger with zap straps or twist ties.

Nicely done I run a few 3 axis cnc routers (don't own them), they're good for aluminum and plastics; no lathe though. Chron, thanks for the link.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

I had already ordered the HLN-60H-42b and now I am confused, So the spec sheet states for the 42A version has adjustable voltage from 40-46v with internal pot, so does that mean the B version automatically adjusted between 25.2-42v. CONSTANT CURRENT REGION Note.4 25.2 ~ 42V Note 4. Please...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Wait are you guys saying that the A version will work but the B won't, is there no voltage adjustment on the B version? The HLG version I asked about earlier says the same thing and you said that would work. Edit: After re-reading what java posted I realized I had read it wrong, it must be...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Thanks Java, you just saved me $10. It seems to be the same as the HLG but different IP rating, I wont be using the driver in wet locations so that will not be a problem. I actually do want the B version so that link was perfect.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Thanks Sup, I think going to get one to play with, maybe use it for a party cup entry in the next comp with a Z4. Powering my 8 AB's will have to be done with cheaper drivers as 360$usd + shipping/import for just the drivers is to much. I can get the lpc-60-1400 for 22$usd each to my door from...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

what about the HLG-60H-36*? I'm not sure how those drivers work but it seems you adjust the voltage to what you need then use it like a CC driver with dimming capabilities. Am I understanding this correctly? They cost more than the LPC-60-1400 but are PF corrected (0.99 @115VAC), 90%...

A51 RW-150 or ONYX bloom? Hmmm.....

With the RW, you could reduce some stretch if needed by keeping the reds off for the first weeks of flower reducing power consumption. You could even turn them off every second day until stretch is done. When buds start to form hit them with the full power

Not sure what he is using but i think its this or this. I would get this instead though. It is 18w draw unlike the 9.5w ones above. The 3000K is good for veg and flower. I'm not sure how hard or if its even possible to remove the diffuser but I would try for sure.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

So I read on here that when people are sanding their led stars that dislodging the led from the star was a possibility. I started to wet sand and within minutes I saw how tedious this was going to be. So being me, a guy who likes to use his brain more than his body thought of a solution for...
