    cxa3070s@350mA orientation

I use something similar to Supra's, I got it from a dollar store LED flashlight. I holds 3 AAA batteries and lights up stars for testing purposes. I didn't even think of it until you said something Chron but I had this sitting in one of my drawers for an old camera I haven't used in years. It...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

The drivers in your fixture are the Meanwell HLG-240H-48B which can easily be dimmed with a 100K ohm pot but since there are 2 of them in the fixture your going to want to get a 50K pot to control them both at once. The problem I am seeing with the above picture is the wire colors, according to...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

I had to go back to find this quote... So the HLG-185H-C1050A you say is capped at 190V. Say you dim it to 700mA, Does it allow you to use a higher voltage closer to the 286V the -C700A would be capped at? MrFlux says when you use less voltage it opens up more current, though I thought the...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

The inverter is good for a power outage but if you want to permanently power it from 12vdc, a better way would probably be to get a DC step up driver. Converting from 12vdc to 120vac to 42vdc seems inefficient, your already running DC from the solar just use something like the Meanwell...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Looks awesome again Supra, I don't know if you said this somewhere before but is 52 days from 12/12 or do you start the count when flowers show?

Scotch, I deleted the post anyway. I have some of those same stars, I just tested them because of what you said. I get no beep from continuity test and they all light up from 3xAAA batteries. Now I'm seeing spots.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

You can tell by the part number, CXA3070-0000-000N00AB50H. AB = bin 50H or 50F = 5000k 30H or 30F = 3000k AB is a low bin for 5000k but that would be a great chip for veg/mother. EDIT: I noticed that the link also says its "High-CRI" which it is not. That part number is the 70 CRI chip. In...

I'm pretty sure its just the cxa 3070 3000k in bins Z2, Z4, AB. No reds, but I could be wrong.

DIY Bridgelux Vero 29 + 3.95" profile heatsink usa

Are you saying you can't dim that driver with out it squealing? Is it only quiet on full? that doesn't seem normal to me. I would say try a different pot or resistor on the dim wires but yours is the C1400A version with the internal pot. Also is it only dim-able to 700mA? (50%) B version dims to...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

To the best of my knowledge they would work exactly the same but the one I posted also have on/off switch built in.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

You can use a 50k ohm pot (100k / # of drivers) to dim them simultaneously instead if a double 100k. This one here will dim 2 drivers and has built in on/off switch.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

Well it seems I was wrong about how the dimming works. In the spec sheet it says the HLN-60H-42b Current Adj. Range 0.87 ~ 1.45a That must be for the "-42a" version of the driver only, when I hook up a 10k Ohm resistor to the dim+/- on the "-42b" it dims to 31.6V @ 0.14a. This is a bonus, as...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

I Hooked up the multi-meter and it says 37.3V @ 1.46a, that is with the blue and white wires (dim+/-) not connected to anything. As for dimming I'm going to have to read up on that.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

grouch, I just received and tested the Meanwell HLN-60H-42b which will drive a single 3070 at 1.45A to 700mA or you could get the HLG-120H-C1400* which will drive 2 in series at the same current but at higher voltage. There are other options but I cant recommend them as I have not used them.

So I am happy to report that the Meanwell HLN-60H-42b works with the cxa3070, I have not tried dimming it yet.

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

I think the Z2 is the highest bin you will find in stock. Arrow seems to be the only company that even lists the AB at this point so its probably going to be a long wait for them. I and most of the people here who have them got them from a trusted RIU member, I'm not sure where he got them from...

    DiY LED - Cree CXA3070

You can also read Gaius's build here. The cpu cooler is a cheaper route than the large heat sinks because you can get them at local computer stores, shipping large chunks of aluminum can be expensive. Also you can get cheaper drivers than the Meanwell's.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Anodizing will not interfere as it is electrically conductive. When dealing with plastic drivers I would just ground everything else. As for taping the driver to ground it; usually when I mount a metal driver I would just attach a wire to one of the mounting screws and scrape the paint off the...

800ma would be maxing the power supply out with 4x .2A fans. Supra used to link this psu, though I have never used it myself. Select the 2A version from the drop menu and it would allow you to add more fans later if needed.

    5th Official Party Cup Registration

Ok... I think I will try this one if you guys don't mind, I got Greenhouse Seeds Kalashnikova x4 that I was going to throw away. Tasted like overpowering lemon/pine; not really my thing, not to mention the extreme foxtailing and bananas. Maybe there is a better pheno in the 4 left, lets hope so...
