Road tripping to CO / CA... how might i be able to score some of these cali priced...

There are some fairly lax doctors in CA who would likely accept a parking ticket as proof of residency. If you could get your name on a bill that would be even better. Where in CA?

    Gastanker's 600+w Organic UV Grow

Today we had a guest lecturer who focuses on vernalization - the acquisition of the competency to flower after cold exposure. So I asked her what was going on when plants take longer to flower based on differces in night/day temps and this is what she had to say: Flowering locust C (FLC) is a...

    Gastanker's 600+w Organic UV Grow

I guess I kind of forgot that two of my plants were Dutch Treat - was just reminded by the presence of balls on both of them. Never grown it out before so I have no idea if I like the strain but the plants look very pretty and stink real bad so I plan on taking pollen and perhaps making some...

Electrical question for 600 watt grow

This is residential fire protection - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb7EFTDt8Nc rf = radio frequency interference which is the same as electromagnetic interference. I would highly recommend a Lumatek.

Electrical question for 600 watt grow

Like they've said, you'll be fine plugging it directly into the wall or into a timer/surge protector. Ideally you should calculate your total amperage and make sure it's below ~85% of the rated load - just to play it safe. For instance if you run a 600w lamp, a 100w fan, and a 200w...

PISTILS!!!! i dont know why ther there

The pistils that are present can be pollinated but as there are so few, and as they are not located on the buds of the plant, it shouldn't hurt.

    Roots organic vs Super soil

Really depends on how you want to feed your plants and what with. I like feeding with a large variety of different nutrient sources and that is harder to do via teas as you are limited to water soluble amendments. Of course constant feeding with water soluble nutes works - it is how most...

A Very Important Fact About Lighting For Your Plants

Well the OP is right in that you don't add lumens - you use them to calculate lux and fc. But to say that light energy doesn't add because the term lumen refers to a single light measurement from 1' away is absolutely nuts. Here are a couple more. Same lights, same size room, same height...

A Very Important Fact About Lighting For Your Plants

20 23w GE CFLs on each side of the room. Blue is brighter. Measurements are in fc. This is from an industry standard lighting CAD program. The measurement of radiation directly below the compact group it is 689 compared to the other side which is ~120. Weird huh?

A Very Important Fact About Lighting For Your Plants

Not sure how many times this needs to be addressed but plants DO NOT use lumen. Plants use electro magnetic radiation to perform photosynthesis. EMR adds. If you have one bulb putting off x # of photons and another bulb putting off x # of photons then together they put off 2x # of photons...

A Very Important Fact About Lighting For Your Plants

You obviously have not taken your own advise - radiation stacks (all types). How about we just have everyone take the time to attend a class. Here's UC Berkeley's Lecture series on physics. I would suggest that those of us not familiar with physics to start at lecture 11 (waves)...

368 watt CFL veg cab/600 watt HPS flower cab perpetual journal

The claw is due to auxin signalling causing a portion of the leaf to grow faster than the rest which causes the leaf to curl - PGRs would definitely be able to do this along with a long list of stresses including saline soil, light direction, gravity, watering patterns... In order to get the...

Your claws are decurling? Damn... I've never had a claw revert back to a healthy leaf - I feel so defeated now, didn't even know that was possible. Fucking awesome though.

Can you daisy chain brooder lights together?

Of course. I have quite a few tanks - all of which run off compact fluorescents and several are not not DIY - CFLs are pretty standard in the tank world.

Can you daisy chain brooder lights together?

I think it should be fine as long as you keep a flat canopy and flower fairly early. Might check out the post I made on this thread (Post #6) - https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/522804-how-do-i-grow-budget.html
