    Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Belive what ever you want. Nothing deceiving about that picture. Lots of comparisons around you, trellising, lights, co2 burner, etc. No "pillows" over here. 2+ per 4x4 area, dense buds. You wouldn't know what that looks like though.

    Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Who cares about gpw? Even though you just said you know a bulb grower that gets more. I care about total yield. He can not show me a led grow that gets AT LEAST 2lbs per 4x4 area.

    Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Only anywhere when you make claims that led compares with hps yield do you need to have some kind of proof so any one will believe you . Other wise its just talk. Talk is cheap. Im really done now :wall:

    Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Im not giving him crap for his set up. If you want to grow with led, grow with led. All I want to see is some pictures that compare to hps so you can prove your point that they can compare.

N.W. Pot Size and timing question.

The more soil the bigger the plants. We use nothing under 100g for our outdoor, mostly 200g or 4'x4' 18" tall beds. Smart pots are a great idea, just remember the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant

Does soil act as a wick?

Yes it will wick. Might not wick all the way up a larger pot but it will wick

    pruning help?

I do my lowers right when I flip to flower and then touch them up after they stretch a little in a couple weeks. I would leave them alone and just let them grow.

    Are LED's practical for a grow room? (24 ft x 12 ft)

Im with you on that 100%. If people want to use led and it works for them, great. But hps lighting is a superior light for sure if you don't care how much your power bill is and want to max your room out. Plenty of skin left after paying the power bill.

What does cfl have to do with anything? Who use 1000w of cfl? I don't use t5s to veg. T5 for clones only. I use 1000w mh. With 1000w Mh your plants don't have to be adjusted to the light going outside or under 1000w hps. Also grow way faster & stronger under 1000w mh and they don't stretch out...

    Dimmable ballast help

Air flow helps a lot too though. If you don't already have it I would get an oscillating fan blowing air around right above the canopy
