Theres a drastic difference between similar wattage of HID and T5 as far as heat output. I have a 400w HPS/MHc in a cool tube, with the cool tube I can get the HID right down onto the plant tops about the same distance as my T5, but the HID heats up my whole room, and slowly the air being pulled...

You mentioned suction cups to secure the air rocks in place... just an idea for you, zip ties can be cut/adjusted to hold em in a certain position. I never found a suction cup that would actually stay stuck, either hydroponics or aquariums. they would all give way eventually. :peace:

no, and yes. I believe there are conversion kits to allow that but cant be sure., otherwise no you would need a specific ballas for the T5 at the T5's wattage (54w for HO, 40?w for NO) w/o doing a bunch of research for exact numbers, most t832 bulbs put out abt 2200 lumens, and most T5's...

lol exactly why I like my self contained bubble jugs, I wont trust any kind of plumbing that could fail. Only thing that could fail is an air pump and Ive never had one go out... just putting the info out there since I was asked by several people about it, and spent 2 days writing it...

All true, not good for big grows but well suited for smaller grows and if you dont mind spending time with your babies. I grew in soil for years before I got tired of constantly battling bugs and even mushrooms in my soil! Different tokes for different folks :)

no those are by WavePoint, they're basically a tri-band red heavy full spectrum bulb, blue/green/red. UV Lighting Red Sun's are almost all Red, but they're booty, avoid em, I'd say go w the phillips or sylvania reds if you need a red bulb. IMHO, fuck UVL. I have the Red Waves, rather pinkish...
