Ya, thats pretty much what I did, just be gentle with em, you don't have to pull all the way down at once, you can slowly do it over a week or so until you get em where you want em. Then you may have to adjust as you go, they typically grow another 1/3 give or take during flower and bush out!

I hear ya, I had the same problem, I would go ahead and flower em, you can LST the taller ones and drop your light down, that will help you get a bit denser buds. Do you have good odor reduction and ventilation? Do you know your temps and humidity? All in all from the pics you look pretty...
