April 2020: What are the BEST flowering COB's right now?

That said, COBs are still awesome and can absolutely rock a garden. The more, the better, from a diffusion standpoint. But I would go with strips.

April 2020: What are the BEST flowering COB's right now?

Penetration is a result of diffusion, not point-source intensity. There's a reason COBs aren't as popular as they used to be. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4559655/

LED strip Lords. I need your guidance.

Yep, here in Michigan the dispensaries were initially shut down, but then quickly deemed essential and reopened for curbside pick-ups only. Glad people can still get their meds, but the supply chain just took a huge hit because the regulators finally cut out the caregivers, so the shops can only...

    Rack Led Grow

I'm going to be dealing with a similar(ish) setup in a month or two. No racks, but I'll be putting (up to) 24 clones in 32 ounce deli containers to grow a hempy SOG, with no more than 3 feet between the floor and the light. I expect it to be challenging, but my hope is to get a perpetual going...

LED strip Lords. I need your guidance.

Oh shit, you're weedless? Bummer, man! But hey, a little T-break could make for a great buzz when you get back to it.

    Rack Led Grow

So you'll have about 30 inches of vertical space in each level. I'd go with strips, man. Lots of strips, run really low, so you can let the plants hit them without concern. How tall are you thinking of letting the plants get? Could be problematic for stretchy strains.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Yeah, I know Tbone from my time at GC, but I haven't been over there for quite a while. Did he happen to monitor thermal performance after adding the extra diodes? I would be concerned about increasing the board temps.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

First time I've seen someone put additional diodes on a QB.

The new QB 648 Diablo from Horticulture Lighting Group

I would speculate that the lower threshold for heatsinking is due to how densely clustered the diodes are. I don't think anyone is going to be taking these boards to their wattage-limit on a Slate 2.

My bad - error on the diode count!

    DIY F Series Driver

Vegging under 3000k really is fine. Better than fine, in fact. And many people swear by 4000k for flower, though I haven't tried that myself. I would go with the QB132s. Generally, I agree that strip builds offer better spread, but when you're talking about such a huge difference in the number...

    Best QB light for 2x2x4?

For a 2x2 you won't really need more than 150 watts, so a single QB288 would do the job just fine. If you want more efficiency, you could run two boards, each at a lower wattage. Strips would also be a great option, especially with only 4 feet of height. Personally, I would avoid the QB96 in...

    Small Light for Cloning.

Check Sager for the driver. They usually have pretty good stock, and though they don't advertise it, I've always received free shipping when I order from them.

    Buddies, side-light and under-canopy LEDs

Yeah, Michigan. You're waiting on Buddies then, I take it? What day did they leave Hong Kong?

    Buddies, side-light and under-canopy LEDs

@Grow Lights Australia the Buddies arrived yesterday, just two days after I was notified of shipment from Hong Kong. Damn quick. Nice. The driver arrived last week, but I seem to have misplaced my wagos (or perhaps the wife did some "cleaning up"), so I'm waiting on Prime shipping to deliver...

First Grow (5x5 Tent): HLG 650R vs. Timber Fatty VS

I generally prefer boards to COBs, but in a 5x5, if I was choosing between those two fixtures, I'd go Timber. The recommended hanging height for the HLG fixture is much higher because the footprint of the light is much smaller. I'm a big believer in spreading the light as much as possible and...

First time with led, looking for pointers

Dammit, HLG is tempting me again with these cheap "v1" boards. OP, the above recommendation is solid. Can't get a much better deal if you're in the market for some extra light. Personally, I would probably want to give the 550s a run on their own first, just to get a feel for them.
