I agree with you, but he said he didn't want to build a light atm. Unless I'm wrong cobkits is all kits, none pre built. The light I lined should give about 40 watts a sqft in his grow space. CXA3070 is still very good imo.

I'll wait a couple bins to come out if it's really that small of an upgrade... Unless they are super cheap for hundreds. I doubt you would even notice a difference even measuring PPFD an all that. If they are more $ I'd look at adding a few more 561c to make up the cost difference and get better...

To the OP. I built a 300watt PCB that is 42 inch long and it covers the plants like a florescent light does, very little shadows. Cobs can still give shadows unless you have a lot of them and HPS gives you hella shadows. I'd say go with quantum boards.

From what i have seen in my own grows it's about 30-40% better, that huge... Imagine if HPS got a new bulb that in the same footprint as a 1000watt this new 600watt bulb could grow the same yields and cover the same area... I'm sure if you built a light with enough cobs/diodes run soft enough...

I wouldn't run it if I got 10 for free because I don't like my eyes and head hurting after working under that color. I owned some blurple and wow, 1 min under them and you need to get out. That being said, you're not me and I have like 20+ diy led built lights and like 10+ hps DE.

The light I just built is 300watts supposed to be 170lm/w, cost about 260$ to build and if I did it in bulk I could do it for about 220$. The difference between this light and a new video card is the light will grow near the same 10 years from now, that video card if not dead will be pretty far...

So I just built a 300watt PCB lm561c s6 chip light (7 total) for about 260$ a light... Why does yours cost so much? From my understanding the 561c not over driven is better than a 3590 cree.
