yeah its always a good idea to give plants a fraction of what it says on the container, for my plants I'm feeding a quarter solution of nsr greenleaves growjuice, when it gets a little further in its growth, I'll give it half of what the bottle says. not 100 percent but its a good rule of thumb.

a 3 to 5 gallon pot should suffice, you want about 1 gallon of soil per foot of growth.
