    QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

What I'd like to see are 12"x12" boards with evenly distributed threads of diodes running the length of the PCB (maybe an inch or so apart? Haven't really thought that through). Each board would act like a row of 1' strips, but with the extra substrate between the diodes, could be run at usable...

    Cob/plant distance/Luxmeter/4 COB'S per plant @35Watt each, 140W total....

Don't worry about the lux. You'll be just fine at 40w per COB. That's more than enough for a 2x2.

    Cob/plant distance/Luxmeter/4 COB'S per plant @35Watt each, 140W total....

Don't get carried away with concerns about lux. For one thing, you don't know how accurate that cheap lux meter is. For another, 50,000 lux sounds like plenty of light for a 2x2!

    new lights help plz!

Double the space but the same amount of energy? No, 1,000 watts of even the most efficient light isn't going to adequately cover 50 square feet. If running COBs/strips/boards, I would think you would want a minimum of 750 watts per 5x5 (or 6x4, as the case may be).

    QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

Sorry, I thought I saw lenses on HLG's site, but I just looked again, and I don't see them. But I would think that with something of this form-factor, lenses would eventually be an option?

    QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

Has anyone seen HLG state their recommended coverage area and hanging height for the QB96 Elite? Perhaps it's in a thread that I missed, but I don't see anything about it on their website.

    QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

Shopping for your buddy's small commercial grow, I presume? Yeah, you might have some difficulty finding something that fits the area and grow-style as well as those 324s. A single QB96 at absolute max would be what? About 320w? Enough for a 3x3 for many of us, but I know you're shooting for...

Or strips. Though the ease of setup and low cost of no-heatsink boards is pretty great.

Supplementation is not necessary, no. The majority of us using boards/strips/COBs do not supplement. As for how beneficial? IR would be beneficial if you're growing in a cool environment, but as long as you can keep your space's ambient temps above 80°F, you'll be fine. As for UV - there are...

    QB96 Elite V2 w/ SSTX heatsink question

I'm a fan of HLG (especially the QB120/QB132), but honestly, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the use case for the QB96 Elite. At even the suggested power of 175w per, in such a small footprint, it seems like you would need a good deal of headroom, which would necessarily result in...
