    Cloning advice

I hear aloe vera is great for cloning. Cut off some of your aloe vera plant and dip the end of your clone into the gel then plant it in your medium.

What's a good organic seedling feed?

I have been trying to find info on an organic seedling feed. My seedling soil is made up of 1/3 parts ewc, peat and perlite and a bit of oyster shell flour, and they are in solo cups. Any suggestions?

Hey Grandpa, is that perlite in your pics? If so, how much do you add to your bins and what's the benefit?

Make sure you grind up your eggshells as fine as you can. Otherwise your bins will accumulate a lot of residual eggshells over time.

Rabbit and horse manure. Best way to utilize it?

Hey grease. Thought I would give the layering a try. Moistened composted birch leaves followed by a layer of crumbled horse manure with about 10 worms per level of manure. Filled up the 5 gallon bucket with 5 layers this. Gonna be interesting to see what comes of it.

Rabbit and horse manure. Best way to utilize it?

Thanks grease. Would it be better to put the rabbit manure in my living soil and let the worms take care of it, or put it in my worm bins, or should I put it in my compost pile?

Rabbit and horse manure. Best way to utilize it?

Went to my buddies today and got a couple buckets of manure. The small one is rabbit and the big one is horse. Rabbit is already somewhat composted and the horse is still kinda fresh. Feeding them on a schedule does not fit. They will let you know when they need food. I typically feed my worm bins about every 8 to 10 days or so. There is some fruit pulp sitting on the counter that I took out of the freezer this morning. Gonna feed it to the worms in my living soil by putting...

    An Awesome Situation For Organics

Here's what grease said in another post. if you are aging whatever the soil is, for a long time (6 months or so), then wood chips are fine, but they WILL sequester a lot of nitrogen... if you are to do it that way i'd suggest putting them alongside with something relatively high in nitrogen...

Vermicomposters Unite! Official Worm Farmers Thread

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to see if I can get my worms to migrate to the new bins. New bins have about 40, 1/4" holes drilled in the bottom of them, and about 40, 1/8" holes around the top for ventilation. Got some cardboard boxes and tore it into smaller pieces. Then...
