There are not very many high yielding strains that can support the bud weight when any training is done. If you're using the right lighting for the size of the plant, the 4 buds should yield as much or more than the 1 that it would have been.

have you ever grown the same strain from clone side by side in dirt and aero? I think the product will usually taste better from dirt, but a well ran aero system will greatly outperform dirt in shear growth.

Yes you can. You should treat them like any seedlings, start light and work your way up. I'd change to flowering nutes when you see the buds starting to form.

I like to use Odor-Soks for light traps. They also filter the incoming air.

Technically feeding your plants in dirt with nutrient adjusted water is hydroponic. Generally anything grown without is considered hydro by most. Good luck with your hydro-organic. It's a lot more complicated than using chem ferts...

It depends on how fast they are growing, which determines how much CO2 they'll be using. The other concern is heat and humidity, which only real world testing will tell.

I run electronic ballasts (which are not the same as digital ballasts). I've never heard that they cause premature bulb failure. The ballasts themselves are more prone to failure than the "old workhorse" magnetic ballasts. Oh, and they will fuck up a 24/7 trimeter if you have it too close...
