You can switch to 12/12 while still under the floros. Veg for 2-4 weeks, then just let them flower under the floros for the rest of the time. They won't be 12", but you'll have a jump on flowering. It's really towards the end of flowering that they really use the extra light.

For clones, the 2 bulb would be good, but I'd suggest a 4 bulb for your mother, IMO.

Genetic Degradation is only a theory I've read about. I don't know if its strain specific if its even true. I don't think its a bad idea to do it that way, it's just not really a classic SOG.

Did you use the same reflector for the side lighting, as well? I find it interesting that even with the side lighting that you still get so much popcorn on the lower part of the plant.

I see. Nothing wrong with that, I was just wondering why the specifics if no real purpose. If you are using Hydro, 4" vertical container is plenty, I'm sure you could do less. Hydro doesn't really get rootbound like soil.

I left a light too high in the middle of budding one time. One(i don't know why only one) stretched bad and now just has gaps in it where it war previously tight and solid. I don't know why you would want that?
