Farto,
I can't help but feel this is related to toxic salt buildup. Testing runoff should clarify things. If that number is high...you'll need to flush. Are you getting regular runoff. Rockwool, just like coco, needs 20% minimum runoff. This should be the obvious first thought any time you...
No, not talking about the sludge. It's the leaf matter and buds that soak up butter...and if you don't squeeze that butter out...you are losing out on harvest. Lots of good butter there. I used to just use a piece of cheesecloth and wrapped all the material into a ball and squeezed the excess...
Thinking about your statement...it's actually quite complex. I could find you a hundred websites that say coconut oil provides better infusions. Seems to be related to saturation. If it holds more THC...even though absorption rates are the same...you would get higher. Same goes for...
FFOF is a little hot. At what point did you start feeding and with what? And if you haven't fed...then the plant is reacting to the hot soil...and should outgrow the issues. They all the same strain?

I think we're talking two different things...both part of the process of getting Ca to the plant. Yes...there is diffusion across a gradient...from high concentration to low.. That is at the cell wall membrane. But the whole thing can be halted without transpiration.

Happy to help...I made my first batch of ganja snickerdoodles in 1975. lol
I use coconut oil now and the lithecin enhances bioavailability. Hey on your recipe...how do you aqueeze the remaining oil out of plant matter?
I use an old potato ricer. Works great and you don't risk burned...
Hi Guys,
I decided to grow out some freebie seeds. One plant (Gorilla Jam) fell over flat at age 12 days. There was darkish discoloration on stem at the soil line (coco actually)...but no narrowing ("necking") at that point.
My efforts to save it includes physical support and powdered sulfur...
farto,
First thing...you can't really compare a DWC to an Ebb and Flow. One's roots-in and ones roots out. Sounds like your buddy is a better grower then you...and his would outperform you if the systems were reversed. It's like chess. A better player will always win over one less advanced...
Sn,
I'll take a shot here. My guess is you have a comfination of light and nute burn. With your light too close...the top leaves were transpiring like crazy to keep cool. All the while they were pulling full strength nutes up to those leaves.
Generally growers do not use the instructions on...
It actually had not too many trichomes. Certainly not like some of the bud shots you see. But once I cooked up some edibles...it's a damn strong sativa. As others have implied with yours...I may have chopped too soon. I chopped at 11 weeks...but it was a Malawi pheno that finishes fairly...
Evil,
First, be really careful not to over dry the buds. I had some airy sat buds do that and I was stuck with harsh smoke. I harvested some Golden Tiger earlier this year...and with a scrubber...they didn't smell unless I rubbed the stem or somethng.
Hope it turns out good after all that...
Sn,
What nutrient strength and schedule are you using. That stage of flowering is where salt buidup often shows up. Was the coco prepared properly (or good quality bagged)?

Can you post a picture. I don't see why we can't have a look right here. Tell us more about the grow. What lights and media. The light burn may slow things down...but plant should recover. But the calmag issue should be corrected...if that's the right diagnosis.

Dek,
If your buds are totally dry...curing will stop and moisture will not re-start the process.
But if they are bendy...maybe they just need to go into a sealed environment so moisture can be equalized inside to out. Jar them asap...
