    are air stones even necessary?

What about microbial growth in water above 70° F? The chiller brings temps down to control unwanted growth, thereby limiting the amount of toxins in the reservoir, i.e. root rot. We all know roots need oxygen, if not it is only a Google away, which is why aeroponics is always talked about...

You shouldn't have to buy the installation disks. These links should do it, if not there is always QBitTorrent and torrent sites you can find Windows 7 versions. Install and use your product key. Thank you for this, @outlier

Is the ViparSpectra Reflector-Series 300W LED Decent?

You should also look at Timber, they have setups with frames for light engines. Timber is a bit pricey, but they do offer well built fixtures.

    are air stones even necessary?

I guess this is me holding onto old methods because they worked, my RDWC has a waterfall for the return, I still feel like air stones in the flower bucket would benefit more than the waterfall alone. As we've discussed, my final will be an aeroponic drip system. No air stones, no air pump, just...

    are air stones even necessary?

Do explain how this works. Your roots should be fine in aeroponics without an airstone, having the pump on a cycle allows the roots to breathe oxygen between cycles. Alternatively, you could use a NFT system as well to allow the roots to breathe oxygen, again, without the use of an air stone.

    The LED "Arms race".....

Every single entrepreneur in the history of man-kind took a risk going into business, men like Tesla were taken advantage of and lied about. Talk about conspiracy.

    are air stones even necessary?

Chilling is the correct method. Not only does the lower temperature prevent certain organisms from thriving in your nutrient mixture, it raises the level of dissolved oxygen the water can hold. Couple that with an air pump pumping warm air into cold water with a micron air stone and you are in...

www.TastyLED.com They have kits, completes and parts. E-mail Kevin at Tasty, he answered all of my questions, offered solutions and even helped me pick out what I wanted for my space, if only I could fit the T-22 with what I'm doing... it is a great fixture and in my opinion has potential to be...

I'm very familiar with drilling and tapping from years of working in the automotive industry, I couldn't keep my hands clean it seems. Now, I feel old. The time and money it would cost me to acquire new tools after liquidating my storage unit would be better spent with my pups. I'll pay for...

If the 1825 matches the Vero but costs more I'll have to wait until the price drops to consider them. However, I do need to place seven COBs very close to cover one square meter, possibly 18-12 distance from the emitter. I'm not sure which will be best, I'm still leaning towards the Tasty light...

    are air stones even necessary?

Yea, you'll need air stones, an electrolytic diffuser or anything that can oxygenate the water. PetSmart has good 2" cylindrical air stones that work well, inexpensively. You'll be adding heat with an air pump, you'll need to come up with a solution for high reservoir temps. :leaf:

    are air stones even necessary?

He didn't say anything about more air stones, just that you need them. He gave you an example of what happens when there isn't enough oxygen in the water. Read up on some DWC journals, there are a few RDWC journals going (one I know is about to start taking off), and that will show you how...

I've been doing fine estimating with my pencil so far. If the calculators aren't reliable then why do you use them? Or are you using something you wrote in excel? Do you test each COB at different temperatures and you have a data log? Or are you pencil and paper like me? I'm curious to know...

I was there over a month ago, less COBs driven efficiently rather than multiple COBs under-driven. I'm more interested in a calculator so I can calculate different COBs. I have an idea, high powered COBs may not be the best for it, I may end up with as much as seven on a custom aluminum heat...
