started using only 2 4' flouros( plant and aquarium) in a shop light. Then after doing some reading i added two cfl for side light but that wasn't till after they started to flower..next grow I plan on using 6 42w cfl per plant. and possibly an 400w hps for flower. Still learning but catching on...

and a long as you have good soil with good drainage it is nt overwatering them by letting it run out the bottom. Thats really the only way you'll know the water is getting to the bottom.

u want to make sure that the water is getting all the way to the bottom of the pot so ur roots will grow good and strong. So yes water til water comes out the bottom of the pot. I used the same set up with the plant and aquarium bulbs and found my plants grew alright but did stretch a little for the light added 2 100w cfl as side lighting and all is well. planning on adding more as i get the money..more light the better.

Aluminum foil or any other kind of reflective surface will reflect the heat as well as the light. So if your worried about heat I would go with the white walls as they will only reflect the light back at the plants.

dude if your desperate you can smoke the leaves of a male plant and it will give you a little buzz, but thats it. Some strains have more potent males than others but they're all pretty damn weak in THC. I'll admit I tried smokin one of my male plants and it really wasn't worth the effort.

thanks for all the help guys. I did end up eliminating it b/c i was unsure of the reverse stuff and did't want to screw anything up. My other two plants are blossoming beautifully by the way. I'll have new pics and probably more ? soon.

thanks for the info, I think i might have to kill it off though cause I don't have the time or money to get anything for atleast a couple of days and i'm worried it might harm open up before then. I've also heard that i can just cut the pollen sacs off as they appear. Is this a reliable method?

I've got the same crack in the bottom of my door and my plants flowered fine, but did take 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to show sex. Good things come to those who wait.

I checked the plants again today and i'm seeing nice white hairs on the last plant and the 3rd which is sweet but on the first plant that seems to be male i think i might see some hairs as well. how long can i let it go to make sure of its sex before it f's everything up.
