thanks for the info guys, i was at home depot last night and found a heavy duty timer for less than 10 bucks so im all set :) i do feel a lot better about it, no chance of a fire :)

I have a three prong light and a two prong timer, is it possible to use an extension cord for a make shift adapter, or could this cause some problems? may sound like a stupid question but you'd never know if you dont ask, lol

I was thinking about a metal halide setup or a high pressure sodium but was hoping to go the distance with the fluorescent tubes, is there a way to grow some nice size plants with just fluorescent bulbs?

These seedlings were planted about 8 days ago, I got the seeds from a friend who said the were California Kush, the lights are T12, 30 watt day glow fluorescent tubes (2) with a 6500K color temperature (I think), they are on a 24/0 schedule and I plan on switching to a 18/6 in a few weeks time...
