i use an 8 bulb t5 fixture as well and i use 4 - 6500k and 4 - 3000k during flowering. seems to be doing alright. i also use a few cfls of each spectrum. you can see how theyre doing if you follow the link in my sig.

switching from t5 to a 250 hps doubled your yield? how many plants were you growing? that sounds like good news to me, if i switch from t5/cfls to a 400hps. but a lot of people have told me to forget the 400 and go witha 600w hps

grow room is the dr120, dont know how hot it will get. I'm about 3 wks from harvest on my first grow right now, using t5s and cfls. will be switching to a 400hps for flowering on my next grow. 4 plants, LST'ed this time, thinking either that or maybe sog/scrog for next time. not sure yet...

i'd go with the dr120 for a 600w, sounds like a perfect fit. my dr120 is on its way in the mail, and i'll be running one 400w hps. as stated above, ill probably have some space between the outer side of the plants and the tent walls, but that works for me.

i use a 2' 8 bulb t5 with 4 each of blue/red spectrum. and also a few cfls of each, for a total of around 350 actual watts. I haven't tried growing with hps yet, but i'm thinking the 400 hps will produce heavier buds than the t5/cfl combo. I'm not sure if a 600 is absolutely necessary.

im in my 5th week of flowering with t5s, in soil, and they are LST'ed. They are budding up, but its safe to say for future grows ill be vegging with the t5s and flowering with a 400 hps.

get some calmag, try it out in a small dosage and see if it helps. for potassium you can add some molasses.
