that is basically what I figured. What I am using to flower right now is 2 fluro tubes (warm white and wide spectrum) From what I ready the wide spectrums are 3500k. I also bought 4 soft white CFL's. I have 2 three feet tall plants. My 400w hps is in the mail.

are these just the same bulbs? which one would be better for flowering? One glows a bit purple.

so I grew some white widow outdoors this summer in pots. They were amazing but they started to flower really late. I have them inside now and they still are not finished flowering. There has already been snow where I live and If i am growing outside I need something that takes a bit less time...

I have some 13w cfl bulbs and a 20 something bulb that I have had kicking around for awhile. How can you tell what they are rated just by looking at them? They do not mention cool or warm white or their kelvin rating.

it wouldn't be too hard to control temperature. Even if its -40 outside its still like above zero underground. think geo thermal.

i dont think it has a ballast but maybe i will take it apart and check it out
