First grow in a dresser, but my plant is yellowing. help!

Heft the cup to gauge its weight when it is dry. Now, when you water, only water the plant when it feels like it does when it is dry. As for heat reduction, at the very least, put in a couple of small fans in there to circulate the air. The best thing you can do is have a fan built in to the...

    Need Advise + HELP!

I would suggest that you get about four 42 watt 2700K CFLs and surround her. IMO, your yield will not be good no matter what you do at this point.

First grow in a dresser, but my plant is yellowing. help!

You are just spraying the soil. You should water the soil until it runs off through the holes in the bottom of the pots. If you are just spraying the top of the soil, the soil 1/2 inch down is still dry.

maybe a way to save BIG $$$$$$ on my...

Since me small cabinet was getting down to 58 degrees overnight, I had to introduce a small heater to the cabinet. What I did, since I did not want to have it running all night during the dark cycle, was to buy a wall thermostat which is wired to a wall outlet. This wall outlet only receives...

How long does it take for the seeds to sprout?

How deep in the soil did you put the seeds? It is suggested, and it works well for me, that you put the seeds no more than 1/2 inch deep, and no less than 1/4 inch deep in the soil, and try to put the tap root (the end that first pops out of the germinated seed) pointing downward. The reason I...

    Older Leaves Yellowing?

When watering, you should pour water onto the soil surface evenly and slowly. You should water until you have runoff. If you do not water the soil so that it is moist all over, there will be areas where the soil is dry. Roots that have grown into those areas will wither away. Or, you you have...

    Is my container ok

Yes, I think it would be fine. I am partial to containers that do not have lips that fold over the top as containers like that are hell when, and if, you need to transplant as the soil and plant are devilishly hard to get out of the container. Containers that will allow the soil and plant to...

PICs CFL grow, feedback and expertise wanted PLEASE!!!

From looking at your pictures, it appears that you are watering only the area around the plant. You should be watering the entire surface of the soil. Water slowly so that the soil has time to soak up the moisture. If you water too quickly, the water will drain quickly through the holes at the...

    how long into flowering...

It also depends on the maturity of the plant before entering flowering stage. If the plant had not reached maturity yet when switching to flowering stage, it might take a bit longer to show sex. My plant was mature upon entering flowering stage and showed 'definite' sex within 10 days. Also...

    flushing

dura72 is correct. If you have a two gallon pot, use six gallons of water--three gallon pot, use nine gallons of water. Do it in a sink or tub where you can allow the water to completely run off down the drain, and then put the plant back in the grow area. One thing I would be sure to do is...

    Will this hurt my plant?

I agree with the above. Though, as with any fertilizer you might want want to try, start well below the recommended dosage and work your way up to what works best.

First grow! Need tips about drainage in soil

Just a little comment about watering. Water slowly. If you pour water into your pot to quickly, the water is more likely to drain out the bottom. So, pour the water in slowly and not in one place. Spread the water around the pot.

BB Cheesus grow (currently 1 week into 12/12)

Ditto here. I have some Cheesus seeds but have not started any of them yet. I decided, since this would be my first grow, to use one of the freebies first. I also have the Utopia Haze, but will more than likely do the Cheesus next--probably in February 2010. Anyway, the one freebie that I...

    My first attempt

Yeah. That is a nice looking plant. If you want to check for sex, keep an eye on the area where the fan leave branches off of the main stem. You will be able to see pistils there if she is a female. My plant looks a lot like your, has been in flowering stage for about 7 days and she is showing...

Home Depot or Lowes should have the vermiculit/perlite in the garden center. The buckets you can find in the paint section.

    1st Grow

Fox Farm Ocean Forest comes highly recommended by most growers. You may want to consider mixing any soil with about a third perlite. So, two parts soil, one part perlite. You can vary this mixture if you like. The perlite helps the soil become a better draining medium which is quite beneficial...

    Are this any good?

I agree with plaguedog, but would certainly run more 6500k during veg, and more 2700k during flowering (but always maintaining a mixture of spectrum).

    Is 1 inch too deep?

Yep, a bit deep. You should bury the germinated seed with the tap root down at a depth of 1/4 to 1/2 inches deep. Although this is the rule, the seed should break ground, but will take a bit more time.
