    How close is to close!!!

Mine have touched the glass with no ill effects. I have a 250 CFM fan inline with the hood, so it depends on how good your ventilation is.

Epsom salt - soil microbes - sulphur, molasses ?'s

Hey man don't take this the wrong way (personally), but if you were to pass me a bong and in the process told me that the herbs we were smoking were grown in soil amended with drywall, I'd pass it straight back. Napthalene Sulfonate sounds like some hydrocarbon derived from lighter fluid. I know...

Epsom salt - soil microbes - sulphur, molasses ?'s

Is drywall safe for consumption? Classic stoner question.

A couple of questions for the organic gurus

I'm not sure of the shelf life but if you let the soil sit for too long all of the plant-available elements that your microbial herd worked so hard to convert are going to be re-sequestered in the soil. Humification

    Store Bought "Super-Soil"

70F is plenty warm enough. DO add microbes. I just used my leftover tea every week to keep the numbers up. The more microbes, the warmer the soil is going to get because they are breaking down all of the organic amendments. It's the same as composting. 3 months is way more than enough time. The...

    TheDillestPickle's First Grow Journal

I just transplanted them into Super Soil yesterday, stepped them up from #1 to #5. The #3's were not deep enough to put a layer of SS in the bottom. I also just started giving them molasses with their weekly tea and man they seem to be loving it. I think the most important thing with soil and...

    TheDillestPickle's First Grow Journal

yeah most of my thread is gone. I'm on the way to the hydro shop right now to pick up the HPS and some tea; will be transplanting when I get back so lok for a new update. I still have all of the photos so I might do a page-long synopsis to bring it current. I think there's a learning curve for...

400W organic soil stealth cab - TGA Apollo-13, Mr. Nice Medicine Man, OG Kush

Mine are in 8:2:2 RO:LW:EWC and seem to be loving it. Very good drainage but not too airy. I'm not sure if they put the manufacture date on the bags but if you watch Subcool's show on YouTube he's been relaying that the current RO mix is very hot; but he lives in Oregon so he's getting it almost...

    In the beginning, there was..

Are you referring to the soil amendments? Not likely, especially in the small amounts I gave them during transplant. There's been some significant growth since my last update. was going to wait until Tuesday evening to post again but I might do it sooner. I'm also going to top soon so I'll...

400W organic soil stealth cab - TGA Apollo-13, Mr. Nice Medicine Man, OG Kush

I think you should consider transplanting your A13s and MMs soon. Whenever you do I highly recommend giving them some tea and perhaps some superthrive. Since you're 50/50 with RO and LW, I would think you could easily get away with giving them proper doses of nutrients without worrying about...

    Supersoil moistness question

That's how I read it as well. I'm not sure of the exact species that form the relationships(endos and ectos), but I am almost 100% that there's a clear distinction between them and the saprophytic types.

    Supersoil moistness question

'Tis a fungi. I didn't intend to infer that mycos aren't a fungus; rather I was trying to express that in this context of soil prep we are really focusing on saprophytic fungi that are prominent in compost, which would be used to inoculate the tea. I'm still unsure though if cannabis would...

    Supersoil moistness question

Perhaps, but we're not interested in mycos at this time. It's the beneficial bacteria, fungi, protozoa, and nematodes that we want to proliferate so they can start breaking down the organic nutrients in the soil to a more readily available form for the plants.

    Supersoil moistness question

nugbuckets.. I was reading through your QT grow thread (fucking nice) and saw that you had inoculated with some tea while it was cooking. Were you aiming for fungal or bacterial dominance.. or does it not matter much?

    Supersoil moistness question

I think you should be good as long as you work the soil every couple of days and don't keep the lid on too tight.
