diffence in ducting is the internal surface. metal ducting has a smoother surface witch results in less air turbulance and more effecient ventilation. if your only running a four inch fan and filter in a small room you shouldnt have to worry about the difference.

its a balancing act. nutes will change your PH, but PH up and down will also change your PPM. IMO you cant check your PH often enough. I have found PH to be one of the most important asspects to growing at maximum effencey.
