Sweet flo. Couple questions:

How often do you completely change your water out? How do you do that? I ask because I just completely changed my 9 gallon tub today since my tap water was 780ppm (out of faucet) on my newly bought TDS meter. Ran out to get RO water (.01 ppm in 5 gallon bucket) and filled it up with 450ppm (FF Big Grow mild dose for seedlings) and ph at 5.8. 9 gallons was heavy as hell to take to my utility sink and completely change it out. Per my other thread my seedlings were curling and not growing as expected. I was using a drop ph meter and no TDS meter, so my water I think was almost toxic to the little guys(girls).
Thanks R1Tony !

To be honest, I have read, seen and heard all the THEORIES on rez changes.
As I was in the beginning of my grow, somethingS occured to me that are completly sensible:
1) Keep my rez clean as possible and I won't have problems with PH/PPM stability, unless caused by the plant eating.
2) Keep my temps STABLE and I won't have any problems with PH/PPM stability, unless caused by the plant eating.
3) If I replace 1gal of water into the rez daily plus nutes, then after 10 days I have completly replaced ALL the previous 10 gallons of water/nutes.
4) Replace/change nute solution when I switch to bloom only nutes.

I was using a Drill Pump ($7) until Lowes started selling Bucket Max.
Bucket Max is a 6.5 amp Wet/Dry vacuum that snaps onto any standard 5gal bucket for $19.95 !!! Buckets are $3 at Lowes.
Lift my cooler lids, stick the hose in and pump away.
Twice per cooler.

So every couple of days i should just replace 1 gallon of my setup?

Everyday you will need to replace the water and/or nutes in your rez.
During their veg, mine drank 0.5gal/day
Now during bloom, they drink 1+gal/day
I keep a 5gal bucket filled with R/O water and bubbling 24/7.
Whatever I remove from the bucket to put into my coolers, I immediately replace with more water.
After my nutes drop 100 pts from adding just water, I bump the nutes back to "normal" for that time.
Keep my rez spotless and everything stable as can be, then change my rez when I switch to bloom only nutes at around Day 29 bloom.

alright, so its that way its more of a simple maintence than a project every week that way. Im actually thinking of attaching some sort of hose to the water level hose that comes out the bottom of my unit and adding a pump to prevent me from ever needing to take the plant out of the res when i replace water

Exactly !
There's more than one way to do something effectively.
I don't remove my plants. No need to, plus I hate distrubing/moving them.
I just lift my lid 2 inches and use the hose.

LOL, thanks OTDL !
I started pinching and bending when lights went out this afternoon.
Most tops already curved upward now (just went in there 10 minutes ago....haha).
Pinched and bent a few more. Snapped one altogether...........oh well. Live and learn.
Being feminized, I'm wanting to go back to SCROG and run 2 of them Chem's again, next grow. IDK.
Thanks for the 12/12 from seed props !
I really dig this style of grow IF you know the strain is a solid hydrid.
At least 50/50 and no more than 70/30 (Sat/Ind).
I have a hundred more of these Monkey beans, plus 100/ea of 2 others crosses using the same Dad.
I will most def run these 12/12 again, and take clones of anything I like between days 21 - 28.

So when you replace the water to the rez do you use the pump or poor it in?

I have an 1/2 gallon (64oz) Ocean Spray juice bottle with the label and glue peeled/washed off:
1) Always adjust PH in 5gal bucket first, to match cooler.
2) Dip 1/2gal bottle in my 5gal bucket and pour into the cooler.
Done. 8)

Rite on bro. Only thing i can possibly think of adding to all this is when i went 12/12 from seed i chopped most plants rite around the expected flower times given by the breeder ( from day one of germ to day of chop ) but i also had a couple finish sooner and a couple go longer. Its all phenotype really depending on what u expect from ur strain. Hybrids Differ i guess. Looks like u have some nice things happening in there for sure its awesome u have the beans to play with too cause im sure ur gonna end up finding the perfect one. The perfect mix of both strains. If the genetics are strong its not hard. What u want is gonna carry thru. N yea ive broken and burnt plenty of tops one in at least every grow. Get a fan and some ducting with a piece of glass and blow the heat out. My plants often grow rite into the glass now with no worries. DWC is a Beast. But real nice when u got what u want in there and ur grow spaces allow haha. Good shit man

I feel you about the harvest.
My Indica pheno is obviously the quickest but it's only about half milky.
The 2 Sat's are no where near that.
I already planned on harvesting all 3 together, at 10 weeks.
The Sat's will def be ripe by then.
The Indica pheno will be the night-time sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so- you-can-rest medicine ! LMAO

Halloween will be Day 65 of bloom so I will either harvest that night or a day or 2 later.

Flo.. looking at your pics two plants look like they are close to harvest and the others look farther off. How do you handle the light for both plants in same DWC? Do they both recieve the same light? Also where did you learn to prune or trim your plants do you have any good reading links on that, I am far off but need to start reading.

In this case they are 18 days apart, from seed. Despite that, the Chem out-stretched the Monkey's b/c they are more Sativa dom. The light was kept within optimal penetration on both strains at the same time. THAT is what is important. Inverse Square Law is something EVERY GROWER NEEDS TO LEARN. Light is what drives our plants. Understand how it affects our garden. Check the pic attached bro. Save that shit too ! lol

I learned from reading Jorge Cervantes's Marijuan Horticulture grow book first. Teaches w/ pic how the plant will grow if you prune a certain way. The basics. Then I started topping AND fimming my plants to learn the growth development. That lead to me learning SCROG. That lead me to reading up and asking questions about lollipopping. Now I'm doing it to the Chem's for the first time. So as you can see, I started kinda like you. After a while you will say fuck it and start doing things own your own more and more. This is after you have read and looked at what you feel is enough to move on.

All in all, my favorite way to grow is SCROG and I'm going back to it after this grow ! WITH my coolers ! lol

LOL I have the 2001 and beyond edition.. Still use it as a reference to cross check things said on the web. There is also another eBook out there called the cannabis grow bible. I'd send it to you guys but I don't think there's a way to do that here. :( anyway I got it off a torrent site, so it's not impossible to find.
