yeah, quick drying never works for taste, but it gives you a good idea of the high. I averaged about a ounce a plant, my crazy pineapple had 2.5 zips tho. :D I like the high better of earlier cuts I think, sometimes I wanna toke and do shit, not be sunk into the couch. Although, there is a time for that too (bed time bowls lol). So I guess for me best would be 75% of the weed harvested earlier mostly white few amber, and 25% harvested later 50% amber.

As for the leaf thing remember a couple things... fan leaves store carbs, when you remove them you are removing energy storage centers. Maybe the most important more resin on leaves doesn't equal more thc. The resin is the plant oils ect not the chemical we all seek to get high. And I've heard its purpose is to help the pollen from males stick to increase chances of pollination before death. I'd consider at least trying a few plants without doing this and compare your results. If you could get two identical clones and grow them side by side that would be cool, then you could really see for yourself the effects.

The best is near enjoy.
Thats a good idea harvesting a little now and later.

.....so the resin buildup isn't THC? I thought the trichomes were resin and resin was THC..?

Yea I'll admit i tried a lot of diff things with this one. Cutting and chopping like crazy. Next grow will actually be some good shit so I wont be taking so many chances experimenting and what not.

So im roughly a week before harvest. Most Trich's are milky so ima harvest the popcorn buds.

The idea is to be able to tell the difference between the more "head high" of milky trich's versus the "Body high" of amber.

I plan to dry these in a cardboard box i've jazz'd up with a desk fan for circulation and a hold in the corner for air exchange. Since these obviously aren't going to hang on anything because there so small ill be leaving them on the styrofoam plate i have them on in the pix.

I figure about 3 days drying and 3 days cure, seeing how the other branches i chopped did.

Also the buds i chopped a few days ago finish curing today. Weigh'd out pretty good and although I chopped before flushing the "planty" taste (not so much smell) seemed to go away after curing. It gives a pretty good smoke and definetly looks and feels nice. Not too moist, not too dry and most of all....NO SEEDS! This bag seed has got to have super bitch genetics because it didn't herm on me after i went chop crazy all those times. I must say im impressed:clap::clap::clap:

Last pic is of the dried buds i chopped on Thursday (2/4)

I guess its up to you, im not even talking about trichs, you can harvest when the trichs are clear but you should always let the pistils receed, and I dont even see any red ones. The earliest you should harvest is at 75% red pistils. Those buds had id say at least 3 weeks left. You lost out on some decent weight. Just a heads up for next time. Im sure itll still be decent though!

So after 3 days of drying, the popcorn from Chelsea is ready to be cured!! Stem snapes and it has a very dry outside feel but very little moistness in center. Exactly what im lookin for!!!

Peep da pix and give ya boy some feedback.

P.S....Smell is outrageous. Very musky and sweet! I think im in love :eyesmoke: , but can only get better after cure!!!!

I can't believe all my popcorn added up to over a halfy. A whopping 17g's!!!! Can't wait to see what the rest yields. hopefully its over a ounce.

To cure I have a Mid size Mason Jar. Gonna open every 12 hours for 30min-1HR. Not sure how long im going to continue this, but im looking for more of a soft moist feeling rather than crispy buds. Not too moist of course because it won't burn or stay burning when lit.

congrats man hopefully you can apply what you learn and maximize your setup.
Oh no doubt bro. i learned so much during my 1st grow so my next will def be managed a little better. Can't complain too much about this one tho. I end up coming out to about 1 1/2 OZ of completely seedless bud :weed:....until the next time

my advice,,, 1 plant per waterfarm.. i tried to grow 2 and one ended up dying ... good thing was she died at the end so it did not affect the other plant while it was flowering.. but i think it would have been much easier with one.. if it had died before then the roots would have rotted and killed the other plant aswell..
