the 4 thai are like this, the other 3 are about the right size but I got lazy on the lsting and they're a little to long. Idealy they would cover the entire diamter of the 5 gallon bucket.

but i managed to get soem ok pics.

Hey Tronica, just chimed in. I'm down for this grow.
Bushy is good, especially with Thai. You've done a good job at setting them up for flowering. Many, many, bud sights there, and those babies are going to explode.
I may have missed it but have you turned to 12/12 yet? Now's the time.

Thanks for the compliments. This is the third day of 12/12 right now. They are doing great. They look so much larger in person. These things are FULL of tops and so much larger than they appear in those pics. There is about 20-30 full "tops" on each in a very regular canopy - 1-2" difference across all plants. I have my cool tube 4" from them now and they are loving it.

Clones are doing good too and I'll be transplating about 6 of them tomorrow.

Some bad news this evening. I was inspecting one of my plants and found some spider mites. I saw the damage first, very little leaf damage on one plant. I checked around and found it on about 6 leafs total. There was no webbing and very few mites. I counted 6 all together. I'm hoping that I caught them early enough to shut them down before things get to bad. My plants are so bushy that it would be very hard to kill a large infestation. I have no idea where they came from.

I then looked thro my other plants and it took me a long time to find some but each plant besides 1 had at least 1 damaged leaf or two and I found a visible one on a few, some eggs on the others.

So I took the 3 littler ones (ak, haze, cough) into the bathroom and doused them in neem. I then did the rest to the 4 bigger ones in the cab. I used about 4/5 of an entire bottle of the stuff. Green Light neem from Fred Meyers. I left the 3 little plants and 1 larger one in the bathroom under 52w of cfl for the night, and the other 3 are still in the grow room under the hps. I would rather not spray when lights are one but I wanted to do something. I would do more but it was fucking 1:30 am when I caught 'em.

Tomorrow morning at 8am, lights off time, I will spray them all down again with a miticide (fungicide 3 from Fred Meyers) and the rest of the neem, then I'll place garbage bags over all of them while they are still wet. Since they are only 3 days into flowering I shouldn't need to worry about that hurting them.

My next move will be to make sure they don't come back. Does anyone have any tips for cleaning out a contaminated grow area? Do I need to take everything out and wipe it all down? Pain in the ass for sure.

If these done show signs of dying this week I'll go to my hydro shop and ask about some industrial mite killer stuff, I need some Gnatrol anyways for the fungus gnats too, so 2 rocks with 1 bird type of deal.

Fuckin hell if I'm gonna let the borg ruin my harvest.

hope you manage to kill the fuckers off

Fucking me too. And I should have been spraying with my Fungicide3 this whole time but I figured I was safe.

Won't make that mistake again. I did alot more reading on mites and found out they can lay dormant in areas and thats why so many growers have reocurring mite problems. They kill them all, think that it's over and a mite will pop out of the carpet where hes been chilling for 2 weeks and start the whole process over. So even if you don't have mites, you should spray anyways once every "xx" (most products Ive seen are 14 days ) days as a preventive. I'm guessing this mite attack was a result of the mites I killed on those clones over a month ago.

I learned my lesson on that as well. Always dunk anything from another garden.

My plan is now to wait another 4 days and then spray with Fungicide3. I might make a dunk but these plants are so bushy that it would be a pita. But that's gonna be what I try first. If that doesn't work I'll just spray of course but these things are so bushy that it's fucking impossible to get all of it from underneath. I'll just have to get as much as I can. Then I'm gonna spray every 4 days depending on how my flowers start coming in.

If I have a very minor mite problem should I even bother with Floramite or Avid? The stuff is really spendy but I've heard it really works. Should I be ok with my GardenSafe brand stuff as long as the numbers aren't to bad? How long can I keep spraying this while flowering?

Any first hand tips are appreciated.

I did some transplanting this evening. I put 6 clones in solo cups. Some others were ready but I'll finish up tomorrow. More roots anyways.

1 Strawberry Cough
2 Mystery Clones - 1 is WW - These came from another grower.
2 Haze/Thai/Skunks
The other plants down there are Strawberry Cough and Ak-47 - Don't know which is which. In the larger pots.
Chocolope in the pepsi thing, and my Sensai Star in the other solo cup.

I found mites on 2 of my AK clones, the ones that were in rapid rooters. I sprayed them with Neem and seperated them from the others. I'd rather lose the clones than let the mites chill.

I also cleaned up my bottom area and will be vegging in there now. And I bought some organic blackstrap mollasses from the grocery store. The best kind they had in the "health" food section. I will be adding that to my flowering feed which for now will be 50ml/10l Hesi, 1tsp Big Bud, and 1 tsp mollasses.

Heres a few pics. Some bubbler root porn and the newly transplanted babies in their new area. I will be filling that area soon and I think I'll take some more clones from my flowering plants. They are only 4 days in so that should be kosher right?

Love the root porn bro!
and...ALL MITES MUST DIE.

Edit: Oh yeah, 4 days is well within kosher limitations:bigjoint:

Just got back from the hydro store, my first time being there. Spent an hour talking to the owner, surprising myself on just how much I know, research pays off.

I managed to score some really good deals tho. I got a bottle of GH Florabloom (14.95) A gallon of HESI coco (40.00$) and a 50 pack of rapid rooters (16.00$) for 20$ total. The GH stuff was all 75% off because they started carrying it at Home Depot so they liquidated it. Luckily that one bottle was still left. And the HESI stuff has a sticker that says "Cup Winner" on it, and Oregon law says they can't sell that either so it was also 75% off. I guess someone had just came in and cleared out all of that stuff. This gallon I got was being used to hold a door open and the guy just said "grab that and I'll give it to you for 75% off). And I think he sold me the rapid rooters for the same discount.

He also gave me a few sprayers to test out so I can come in and get the ones I want later.

AND he found the lighting system I want and with the discount they have for membership (100$ one time fee lifetime membership) it drops from 460$ to 310$. The "retail to wholesale" price cut for their membership gives you really big discounts.
This is that light system I was talking about.
Has t-5's along the sides and 2 150w HPS bulbs. This would be perfect for doing a mini-sog (single cola plants flowered from clone, ending around 18") in the bottom area of my grow closet.
I'm really excited to get away from Miracle Grow tho.
Hesi Coco, and GH FlovaBloom. Not the best, but it's a start, and it was damn cheap!
Is that shop Worms Way? They have about 6 different locations across the states and give the same membership discount. Just wondering because I had a similar experience my first time going there.

Thats a good name for a min pin and cool pic. Ours is same coloring but slightly heavier lol. I'll have to get some pics of him going through our jungles like that but he is always trying to eat them. Great grow +rep

Thanks for the compliments. It's not Worms Way, but I've seen many people refer to them as a good shop with fair prices.
The shop I go to is just a small local one.

My dog will eat ANYTHING.

Then if you don't want fuzzy lines through all the pics set it to the artificial lighting settings in the menu:-P

Thanks, I'll try that. I'm not to familair with my camera. Just know how to mess with focus, flash settings, and macro settings really.

I really want an upgrade.

My fiance wants a Rebel-XTI.

Maybe someday.

So I think I have one of three problems.

I either have a bad macro nutirient def. Not sure exactly which, my symptoms seem to fit many illnesses.
I could have over done it on the neem oil (tho I doubt it)
Or the fungus gnats are starting to hurt my plants.

I have alot of small, dying, wilting, lower growth. I was able to pull like 40 leafs off one plant today, very easily. All very weakened and from the lower part of the plant. This is kind of ok because I was going to trim alot of that anyways, but I think it was to much. I went thro all the plants and puled off dying plant matter and there was a big fucking pile afterwards.

I don't know if I have been fully watering the large plants enough. I had been doing small waterings often. I'm trying to get away from this habit, tho I've never burnt my plants. So I just gave them my biggest watering so far. Each plant got 2 litres of 50ml/10l Hesi (bloom mix), 1g of Big Bud per, and 1.5 tbs of mollasses in 2.6 gallons of mix.

I put another clone in soil, my bubbler is superior to my rooters I think. The roots take a little longer to show up but they grow larger, faster, when they do.

The clones in the rapid rooters take the transplant to soil better tho, since the plug just goes right in.

I'm a little worried about things right now.

Does anyone have watering tips for larger plants in 5 gallon buckets? How much are these things drinking? And how often should I water?

Never have had too much problem with the gnats......and I 've never had a grow without them either.......only had them get bad once---where they'd be flying in your face now and then. But I never noticed any damage to the plants, though I 've read how they eat the roots and love dirty medium, dead leafs, etc..... Got the yellow stickies?? That's all I use now as I only get a few from keeping everything way clean.
GoGNATS( http://store.homegrown-hydroponics.com/hognpqt.html ) is what I used and have in case I need it again(I never used the Prill) And I doubt it kills mites and all they claim. Cheap too. It's mainly for hydro but I bought and used it when I was soil only: mix it up as directed in a spray bottle, and in your nute mix; I ran it right in the soil and sprayed the leafs-----it smells a bit like mothballs(what do mothballs smell like??) and they ALL were dead the next day......didn't think I had so many, and to think how many nust have been in the soil!!

If your unsure what your pots feel like when needing water then I 'd suggest to give them what you know is a good watering(like a flush when it's coming out of the bottom) and let it soak in.....feel how heavy it is or put a scale in there(you'll get what they feel like). I 'd make sure you get a dry weight though.....for comparison. Your plants should be letting you know when they need water---the leafs really drop quick(I dont mean fall off), or wilt, you know....... And each type of plant is going to drink different amounts of water, varying on many things, even like RH, temps, etc....

Sounds like things are going for you!! Right On!! Get a pic of your leafs that are dieing(is it getting enough light down there? Are they showing any def's??).

Great luck with all!!
