this is a new one ... Join in if you like! You have til January 31st to decide!

Lighting- Decide in the beginning what lighting you will use, One the other or both... Just no changing sources or adding/subtracting lighting once decided. All lighting usage must be declared in your first official update
Nutrients- Again decide what you are using and declare it in the first post
Medium- As long as the roots are contained in your 16oz cup there is no medium restrictions- The last competition was won with gravity fed miniature DWC of my own design.... Get creative!

whats the policy on root pruning or using a product like spinout AKA microkote AKA copper hydroxide in order to combat root boundedness? Haven't seen anything on it so I assume its all copacetic

I'm definitely in, just need a lighting upgrade first so I don't get embarrassed

Roots outside the cup is a disqualification,I used a fine screen to contain mine. If they can grow outside the cup someone could just prune them before the weekly update pics "cheat". Any set up with a chance of roots outside the cup has been told they may need to supply proof on demand in the past, extra update pics when asked.

Right I understand that part but by root pruning I mean taking the root mass out of the cup, chopping some of it off, add fresh soil to the same cup and replant. I guess roots are technically out of the cup for the minute that it takes to cut some off so maybe this is frowned upon. Surely such aggressive pruning would stunt growth for a bit but if you have a badly root bound plant then it would be worth to do so, if allowed of course.

Okay thanks like I said it would only be a last resort to fix a plant that's strangling itself. Question was more out of curiosity than actually planning to do so

Yes its not as easy as it sounds, I have a good time and think its just plain fun.
I learn a few or two from everyones post, and see how the different strains grow.

Good luck to everyone who has joined so far, and a special thanks to the host FrozenChozen and also to all the sponsors.
