Im wondering how being rootbound is gunna play out.
not good mate it will stress them out, you would be better off to cut a 1" off the bottom of the root mass and put some fresh soil in so the roots can keep growing
they will stop growing in the first few weeks of flower

How much could running 60watts of cfls ?
not a lot mate lol

my old veg light/fans used more electric than my flower light and that really shocked me when I worked it out
also getting rid of the heat from the veg room in the summer was a pain and I had to use swam cooler etc to get rid of the heat

low watt veg lights that could give me great results in veg will save me loads of space, money and there no heat to get rid of :)
Thats a good idea. I never trimmed roots, im gunna look into it. At first i was planning on all these plants dying but at this point i really want them to finish.

They are gunna flower under these same lights. They are to small to scrog, so im just gunna let em rock. My yard dirt must be magical lol

Unfortunately i can't fast forward. Yeah, its kind of boring but has already produced some good information. This was intended to be a learning experience. I learned that the a plant can be grown in yard dirt with no negitive effects, and that 60w of cfl can successfully veg. 7 plants for a short period of time.

It's a plant. Naturally it can grow in dirt, and lots of people grow with cfls.

This is like saying I learned today I can drink from a tap in my house

This is common knowledge m8
60w cfl could make 30 clones
So of course it can veg 7 plant but extreamly slow and not healthy as they could be
It will not be enough to flower

And thats fine. If it produces flower, cool, if it shrivels up and dies... So be it. If i actually gave a shit this would be a diffrent scernario.

For the last time.... This grow was to document what happens with absolute minimum care to the plants. They get tap water, no nutes, shitty light, and thats it. They got a lil peroxide once to take care of gnats, and honestly i would have let the gnats go if i wasn't appalled at haveing bugs in my house

most the threads on this site have been covered loads of times
you could say this is common knowledge but most growers are lead into thinking your environment, light, nutes ect has to be perfect to grow weed and its a load of crap

Its just a way for grow shops to make a lot of money as weed is worth a lot of money

often I pull bumper crops of veg in my green house/garden but as the not worth any money everyone grow them in cheap soil and gives them basic nutes, why does everyone treat weed different ?

60w cfl might be a little low to veg and flower plants but it can be done now if weedenhanced had used 3 x Sylvania High Output T5 549mm 24W Daylight Fluorescent Tubes with a 4" space between each tube, boxed them in and painted the box white, topped then, he would pull a nice yield for the light (72 watts) and a PC fan pulling the hot air out one end, could even add a home made filter to stop the smell, there loads of different ways to get great results on a budget grow

and weedenhanced document to show what happens with absolute minimum care to the plants is a good thread IMO

maybe another grower will read and follow this thread and try using t5's and Levington Tomorite nutes

Some of the best bud ive smoked was grown on a budget by friends and myself. Mine are normally bagseeds though so its hit or miss.

Sure with a low buget your yeild is decreased but quality can still be amazing if you smart about it.

This grow is about keeping them alive, nothing more. They do look healthy as hell considering the conditions.

Me too. It starts cheap but as you add more and more cfls, fixtures etc I wish I'd have just went hps from the start and gotten better yields for a small increase in budget.

It works, and makes it easy to learn temp keeping, watering and so on.

Imo they're good for new growers on a tight budget.
you can get 200 and 300watt cfls, ive owned some. Pretty temperamental though have had some break/fail
