AC Infinity Cloudray 6" Auto Oscillating Fan

My tent is fairly small... the rough equivalent of a 4x4, though it's 5x3 (to fit the space I have.

But yes, I have the T6 for exhaust up above (in tent), with a Terrabloom filter in front of it, then it ducts out the tent and to a basement level window (about 4' of ducting).

I have the S6 down at the bottom as an intake (outside the tent, with a bit of duct on each side of the fan). For that setup I need the S6 to run damped back a bit so it doesn't create positive pressure in the tent. I use MERV13 filter fabric over the open intake duct to not only filter the dust/dirt out of the air, but to reduce the airflow to keep the negative pressure. Depending on if I use 1 layer or a couple layers I can damp down the intake airflow though the fans are using the same settings with the Controller 67.

This with the 67 gives a reasonable amount of control over the grow environment, given I don't have AC. During the winter I have a small in-tent humidifier, then during the hotter weather when it's humid I run dehumidifiers in the 'lung room' (actually the whole basement level) where I want to control humidity up or down seasonally and not just for plants...we have a music room/studio space that holds my guitars, basses, amplification gear and electronics; a fairly decent ceramics studio & a large room for storage. I try to keep that floor in the 40-45 range which is comfortable for instruments, ceramics drying as well as giving the tent drier air when the fans kick in stronger.

In terms of running an in-duct with really cold air...that may cause you humidity issues. Cold air meeting hot creates condensation, so something to consider. Also, I use a backdraft damper on my exhaust duct at the window. That guarantees that cold air doesn't enter my exit, should weather conditions and air pressure push cold air in my exit.

Either way, the only time I really have difficulty in controlling conditions is the middle of summer when you're just dealing with lots of ambient heat and humidity.
sounds like you have it pretty well dialed in, what sort of lights are you using in that space? I found that I can run the fan a lot harder and still keep the temperature up around 80-81 in the tent using 4x 315 cmh, have also done some testing using 4x 240w quantum boards in there, fan does not run nearly as much and have to lower the idle speed of the fan or it will drop the temps to just a few degrees above the rest of the basement, down to 75-76, too cool for optimal growth.

I like your use of merv 13 filter fabric on the intake side, I may build a box that I can fit whole filters in and then run some ducting to the bottom port on either side of the tent. I think that would work great If I decide to get an intake fan.

I had not considered the condensation aspect of venting my sealed flower room in the winter, but your absolutely right, the cold air coming in through the duct would drop the first air it hits below the dew point and create condensation. When I tried this years back it didnt get cold enough in that area for that to happen but up here it absolutely does. Will need to ponder how best to overcome that issue, thanks for the feedback!

Oh yeah they have "more" for sale, on a pre-order.

Everything's good now! Go ahead and PREORDER your ONE fan everyone!

The only reason to even get this new fan is because you can program and schedule it's operation. The only thing different about using this fan vs any other oscillating fan is that you can mimic the usually calmer winds at night. Other than the programability this does nothing more than any other oscillating fan. The bells and whistles are for the consumer not the plants. And no one knows the durability of these units yet so that doesn't enter into it until we have a timeline.

In the end you won't be able to show that having this setup vs something else gave you a higher yield or quality. You'll be able to program a schedule for the circulation fans. Everything else is the same. The only reason to even buy one of these fans is if it turns out to last a lot longer than all other fans. The ability to program it really means nothing to the plants.

I know a handful of stagehands in different strata...and also a few guys who worked steel...that shit scares me. As a player and also tour manager I always carried a pretty sizable 'in case of' gig kit, even though we were supposed to be provided with everything we'd need besides our amps/instruments. I was the guy that everyone ran to when something didn't work or they forgot whatever.

Though the best gigs were the ones where I was hired in as a fill in or temp band and they'd fly me wherever take care of all backline, instruments if we wanted and of course room/board. I'd travel with a case over my shoulder and a backpack.
Yea man. Fuck steel. I don't do much climbing work, hate heights. That's badass what you used to do. There was a time when i would leave at the drop of a hat to do a gig. Now a days, i choose very specifically what I want to do with my time. As you and I both know, its never a good time in the entertainment world, but that money tho.

I preordered the S6, $11 shipping added. $50 is a lot, i am considering cancelling. The A6 is $40 free shipping on eBay. I also used a 15% coupon.

ACI has such a weird cult following. I think the company did a great job of weaseling their way into all the influencers so now they’re a staple that all small home growers think they need.

the only product I own by them is their backdraft dampers for my duct work. I will acknowledge that the quality is superb compared to what I could of purchased from Home Depot. But I don’t think these backdraft dampers were marketed for the cannabis industry.

I dont know man, every AC Infinity item in your grow is +2.01 to yields. At least that's what I heard... somewhere. I think.

Oh, don't forget they got the best insulated ducting on the planet.

I use one of these. Holmes HOAF90-NTUC Blizzard 9" Three-Speed Oscillating Table/Wall Fan, Charcoal, 14.4" x 10.4" x 10.6" : Home & Kitchen (amazon.com)

I took it off that base and made a wooden bracket I screwed to the wall. The AC fan looks nice but if you can't buy it what good is it. No way I'm giving them $50 to hold for a fan I might get in July. If you need a small osc. this one will get the job done.

Looks like this is still the most viable option that will last a bit longer, if you can still find it.

Also looks like the jury is in with the Cloudy S6. Not so good, and it's exactly the part you'd expect to die, the oscillating motor. Although they've created. fan that talks to it's remote controller which is what attracts people, they did what always happens in these cheap fans and that's cheap out on the oscillator. Already posted in video on YouTube, you'll find a user who found that if the oscillator is restricted in any way, it strips out the gears inside the sealed oscillating motor and the oscillator dies. In this case, the user left the fan running while he was in the tent and the door flap moved near the fan and blocked it's oscillation, leaving it clicking and resetting. As of one month ago ACI had not responded to his question of could he get another oscillator motor for the unit. So because something managed to block the fan while it was working, the exact same thing that destroys other junk fans has also destroyed this one.

Move on folks, these are no better than monkey fans. It's great you can control it and adjust it remotely, but if it's broken then it's no better a fan than the cheapest junk you can find at Walmart.

I found these on etsy. There are all kinds of them that look better than what I rigged up. I'm probably going to have to get one.

I love all my ac infinity fans. They are quiet and reliable and work very well. The ducting is the best also. A little more money for real quality

Are you saying fans and meaning AC or do you mean fans?

I have a 6 in exhaust fan with 2 pole fans all with connections for controller. I use 1 big box fan. 48 x 96 tent. No air conditioning

Ok, I got ya. I have the two exhaust units. Love them, can be loud but it's not a problem. I don't have any of the 6 inch fans. I haven’t heard very much good about them so Far. Good to see, I was pretty hyped when the first came out but when I seen how much they were going for, kind of killed the excitement.
