Aero Cloner ISSUES one week roots, yellowing leaves with curling and crispy edges

I recently bought a 25 site Aero Cloner to see if I cant pick up my clone success ratio. I put 25 clones in exactly a week ago. Things have really been going smoothly and all has been well until the last 2 days.

My clones have started to turn yellow and curl on there tips and get crispy. As you can see in the pics all of my clones have started to root some have 1/4 inch roots some smaller some just the beginning of root buds starting (lil white bumps). When do I add nutes with aero ???

I added the prescribed dosage of HYDRO GUARD and Power Cloner solution at the start. I have not added nutes yet and am skeptical to do so. Buuuut they need something and SOON Temp is 80 and lower. Not sure what res temp is but I can check. Its not hot I know this and its not freezing. There under T5 about foot and a half to 2 foot above the cloner them.

Please help me out I cant afford to loose these guys Im already behind on my grows.

NORMAL!!! Just keep going, in another week you should see some long root growth, then the plants will start turning green again and before you know it they will be big healthy mommas. In fact with those little roots you have now you could add a tiny bit of fertilizer to the water.

So there not going to eat themselves before then ? They have some leaf damage as you can see in a few of the photos ??? Kind of damaged where the new growth starts ??

Yeah that always happens to me too. As long as the new growth is looking good your fine. you phed the solution right? If the yellowing bothers you you can add a humidity dome but it really only makes a bit of difference in grow time and not worth the hassle imo.

Im still running into big issues with my new aero cloner. The yellowing and upward curling with crusty edges is getting worse and I have lost a few. After actually seeing roots begin to form when should I add nutes ??

5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? Power Cloner Solution Aqua Shield
6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 5.6-6.0 (i let it drift to 6.2 then lower it again)
7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? Used bottled water
8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? I added 1/4 nutes yesterday making it 900 ppm
9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? ???? Ill check today
10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? Not sure only check it every now and then to check PH witch does rise.
11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? ph rises slowly
12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No
13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") T5s
14. How close are your lights to the plants? 2 foot
15. What size is your grow space in square feet?Closet
16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space?80 or so
17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? nah
18. How much experience do you have growing? Im cool growing but cloning is a weak point and Ive never used a aero cloner ?

To much light,there absorbing to much water with the new roots and going deficient.either add light nutes or back the light off

Did you correct the by adjusting light and or nutes?

Why don't they ever update after the "event horizon" post. I'm going to assume he took your advice, it's the same I would of given him. Still curious tho, maybe trying out myself soon.

I went and bought a 24 site for something to tinker with. See if it can beat my best set up to date. I ported the exhaust of my room into a large cooler that is throttled at the discharge and lined with led strips. It maintains a near perfect air quality of 75 degrees with 90% RH. Some of the more aggressive strains pop roots in 3 days, most are rooted in under a week, and I've never had to put them in any deficiency to make that happen. They look just like they did coming out as they did going in.
I think people get lost in the rooting process and neglect the preparation process. I get great results when I 'pre-load' the target stems with nutes during a period of 'rest' prior to cutting. I foliar feed with a bloom formula enhanced with a trace amount of B1, alphalpha meal extract and soluble kelp, then dial down the lights to 10% for 24 hours, with a second foliar feed applied after 12 hours. The second foliar feed is only the extracts plus B1. Prior to cutting I sanitize the stem with an alcohol wipe then ligate it with a small zip tie, cutting is made with sterile blade just below ligation. That is immediately dipped in cloning gel at least 3/4" above ligation. Prior to placement in rooting sponge, I use a tool that looks like a micro Melon ball scoop to cork out some surface lacerations through the gel, ensuring each cut is immediately covered and treated. The new roots explode from these lacerations while the significant damage of being ligated and cut heals separately.
I haven't found a method yet that makes a stronger, healthier, already hardened clone in less time, but haven't tried aero yet

I have state of the art fogponic/aero/dwc/you name it cloners.. dedicated propagation chambers.. but don't hardly use any of it anymore.

I use that same mylar laminated bubble wrap. Shit is damn near as versatile as duct tape and effortlessl to install. I've built entire grow rooms from it in studio apartments and basements.

You didn't mention what method you use to root clonezilla

Ya I like using it, but man.. it isn't cheap to do whole areas with!



I used the ancient air layering technique. With that particular clone zilla.. I wrapped 3 root riot plugs around the spot where I girdled the stalk (removed the outer bark all the way around), and wrapped with plastic wrap and water proof tape.. Kept injecting fresh water\clonex through a syringe everyday.






You can continue to train and veg the clones before they're cut, because they still absorb moisture through the xylem layer, without the nutrients.They won't shrivel or wilt under intense light like a regular cutting does, because of still being attached. You can actually continue to train and veg them as they root. You could even remove the layer, and the whole branch will recover and grow new skin around it, if you decided not to cut it after all.



Now days I came up with more advanced methods. I hang IV bag (lookup plant life support bags) off the mother plant with a configurable drip emmitter, and manifold poking into to as many clones air layer wrapped mediums as I need. The IV gravity drip a bag feeds\waters all the clones automatically, instead of me by hand 2 times a day...

Or, I would actually cut/split up a large stalk, and shove the pointy end of it into a water bottle (leaving the clone attached just a little bit, and pump air to it just like a DWC Christmas ornament hanging from the plant. Hydroponic bare root air layers
