Afganistan Collapse

It's a lose-lose situation I think.

We stay and keep trying to pretend the Afghan military is competent and the Taliban keeps waiting for us to leave.

We leave and this is what happens. Probably much sooner than anybody thought except for the Taliban.
Yup, it was always a lost cause. It took the worst president in history (Trump is down the list) and his religious zeal to think it was a good idea.

I believe it's officially over, they have claimed the capital. I also think it was yesterday that Biden said we wouldn't be seeing any helicopters on roof-tops. I don't blame him mind you, was always going to be outcome.

We never had a chance. Just like Russia and...

Some of the invaders in the history of Afghanistan include the Maurya Empire, the Greek Empire of Alexander the Great of Macedon, Rashidun Caliphate, the Mongol Empire led by Genghis Khan, the Timurid Empire of Timur, the Mughal Empire, various Persian Empires, the Sikh Empire, the British Empire, the Soviet Union, and most recently a coalition force of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) troops, the majority from the United States, which entered the country in the first-ever invocation of NATO's Article 5 "an attack on one is an attack on all" following the September 11 attacks in the United States.

So a nuclear explosion would take out a building or take out New York City?
What you fear or rather are concerned about is not anywhere close to what I am. See we have this country called North Korea that regularly fires missiles towards Japan and really really hates us (good reasons to of course) that is 100% more likely to fire a nuclear missile at us. Just because Pakistan is willing to give save passage and support to terrorist doesn't mean they are willing to attack America with nukes. They all want the same thing, for America to stop meddling in their back yard.

Should have just located Bin Laden and dropped a bunker buster in the vicinity. Done.

Trump cannot be down the list. Warren Harding was better ffs.
I think I read that historians put him at #3 worst presidents. Subject to change of course and thankfully we got him out before he could do anymore damage. I will say this though, even though I hated him and voted against him both times, my stocks were like 40% up under him. All it took was selling out our kids and allowing corporations to manipulate the market.

The stock market response so completely went against what I expected. I’m a frustrated bear.

Well I was expecting it to do worst under Biden to be honest, which is not a bad thing, I'm all for corporations paying their fair share. Less for me but I'll be ok.

Wall Street Is As Bullish As It's Been in Almost Twenty Years

Right now, 56% of analyst recommendations on S&P 500 stocks are buys, the most since 2002 and an indication that a strong earnings season has given Wall Street an unbridled swagger.

I believe that was ISIS, another remineder of the peaceful nature of the Muslim religion.
It was Taliban.

.

ISIS didn't exist until a decade after the Taliban committed the crime against humanity of blowing up those amazing stone Buddhas. They are religious extremists. Not that Islam has a monopoly on wild-eyed religious extremism.

How is your portfolio doing compared to 3 or 4 years ago? Mine is at 16% ytd which is not exactly mind blowing.
