Are they good with seedlings ? I moved my gals into the tent with HID after about a week.

Could I suppose, if it was the 600 or even the 1000`s I`d say no. They are really powerful lamps, would have to be kept pretty high, eliminate most of the benefit IMO. I now stick exclusively to the T5/CFL - MH - HPS, noticed a 5-10% increase in yield with that being the only altered variable ... Food for thought

Edit-normally I go from T5,MH, and finally HPS, used to use two 400W in a 4x4 huge mistake, heat was a serious probem.

Girls are looking good new growth coming in from the bh getting fastee as it goes. The mutant is perfectly healthy no yellowing or any burns as in other plants, I probably watered too often at first, thinking about adding some ST to next watering. They were transplanted on april 1 so they should be old enough?

I use ST in everything !! Haha, yeah you`re good to use it, but a little goes a long way. 1 drop / litre is my typical amount in a soil application, about the same as a foliar. I bet they`ll like ...

How big should they be before I start giving them 2 L of water each? Since they are in 5 gal pots I have read they need 2 L. I gave the afghan a little drink in the morning because she needed a bit of water. The boss hogg and mutant are looking good and ready to be watered. Tommorow for the mutant and maybe later tonight for the boss hogg, I will water the mutant and the AKR tommorow with superthrive and the BH today with some as well, just to pick things up.

As of right now I just give them a little bit of water each and water over the period of two days because I wait so long between waterings now.

That sounds a bit low brother at 2L/5 gallon. My Leader gets dry, dry (I leave em a good while), and she drank about 1.5L this morning in a 1.5 gallon pot. My calculations are usually similar, meaning you may be able to take a full gallon of water in a 5 gallon medium ... do you water until you see runoff typically?

Nah I have just been giving them a little bit of water at a time and I will come back to some runoff and empty it out. From what you have just said maybe thats why they are growing so slow :/ I will go in now and give them all another watering as I just watered all three with 1.75L so I will be back soon

Yeah man, water all the way through, wait for runoff, drain it and you`re good. So long as they`re not sitting in runoff, they wont need water for another week, maybe less depending on growth and how much they drink

I just gave each about 4L of water each and they all started runoff when I was watering. I gave the AKR about 1.75L because I watered it earlier today. I water with an old OJ bottle measuring 1.75L and I added 1 1/2 drops of ST and about a mL of Dyna-Grow KLN rooting solution that says it is a remedy for plant shock as well as amazing root stimulant, we will see I spilled alot of water on myself emptying the drainage tray and now I am afraid I smell like seaweed and chicken/horse poop lol so I am going to take a shower mate,

Well I don't know how much the AKR's will yield after this slow growth for the past 10 days. Hopefully they have a 3 week veg I am going to let the boss hogg get huge in veg so it makes for good cuttings

I came back just now and saw there was more runoff, emptied it out, going to check on them in a half hour and see how they look
Wish I could harvest on 4/20

After this watering the whole room smells like poop and when I open the tent its like a blast of fresh poo hits you in the face, doesn't sound very appealing but it's honestly not that bad

I just realized my liquor cabinet is actually a perfect space for vegging little babies... it has t5s hooked up to a light switch inside the cabinet.

As long as it`s not a rancid poop smell, more of a pleasant organic poop smeel, you`re aces, means you`ve hit pretty much everything. Then sit back, wait for them to suck it up, and you`ll be able to tell the rate they`re drinking

Might have given the boss Hogg and middle akr a little too much water, leaves are starting to curl down, also I see that after I fell asleep there was more runoff(I fell asleep around 3 am after checking on them...have insomnia) and I drained the runoff this morning. It is definitely more of a garden poop smell so I think I am good on that. Next weeks watering I will give them all about 3/4 gallon or maybe half gallon and see how they like it, I'll give more if they need it though


The only other thing I will be watering with this whole grow is kushy kush for AKR's and budcandy for all of them. Damn, just read your LED tut and that is some pretty impressive shit, how much did yOu end up spending? I have been thinking about LEDs but they are soooo expensive it's almost not worth it, also heard they weren't all that good for flower either.(not to say I wouldn't use them, would just switch to hps during flowering )

You`re dropping leaves will spring back up, just the roots breathing a sigh of relief really, haha. And for the LED, you have to fire questions KillAWatts way, his journal, just thought it was worth spreading around in my sig. I like to spread the love where/when it`s due you know what I mean?

Awesome, I totally get ya and will post up some pics soon. I see some new growth coming out of all of the plants even though their current growth isn't really fully developed, the structure of the AKR is extremely compact and all the nodes are super close right now.
The akr has about 1 cm between each node where as boss hogg has almost half an inch, the mutant is along the same lines as its sister.

I`m keeping my eyes on that BH mutant, gonna to be nice

The akr is the mutant and the middle akr is the heat stressed one. The BH is farthest along and its loving all the attention, after that watering the BH leaves have perked back up and its got about 3 more nodes since Same story with the mutant, the middle akr is also steadily recovering. I figured I would post some pics up of my last grow to let you see how that went.

As you can see it's not really an advanced setup or anything, got a little ahead of myself. These girls ended up living in a wooden box lined with panda film and an AC unit on the roof blowing cool air down into it. I ran into a mite problem later in their life because of the location, so I got an aRMY of lady bugs to battle them during flowering. In the first pic the closest plant is trainwreck, the plant to the left of it(tall sativa) is Purple thai(a legendarily rare strain) same with the taller one to the right. The plant behind the TW is bubba breath, a cross of Bubba Kush(pre 98 bubba maybe) x Lambs Breath. And those are penis envy shrooms in the back, yielded a few pounds, chronic.

And off those plants I never even got around to weighing the amount I harvested because to me it doesn't matter, just personal use. I had 3 ziploc freezer bags completely full to the brim with buds. My harvesting process sucks huge though so that is something I am going to have to read up on.

I dont understand why these girls are growing so slowly! I have been looking at other journals and by day 13 some people have 15 nodes already...

I just cant wait for them to take off, the only thing I could think is that the tap root is still working to get to the bottom of the 5 gallon pot.

I can't wait till I get my perpetual harvest going, enough of this waiting lol.

Finally an update! The growth is starting to pick up, I think I will post pics when they get a little bigger, just so it's not the same thing over and over the boss Hogg is starting to get a bit more compact in node structure and the akr has picked up a little bit

Hey guys, so the growth still really isnt much to brag about, starting to worry a little because they are all still looking like seedlings, should I be giving veg nutes? I am going to the club tommorow to pick up a GSC clone so I am looking forward to that, I am probably just going to squeeze it in that tent somehow in a smaller pot. I dont really know yet lol.

So I am going to need some help now please guys! I just went in and the mutant is withered with a white spot on it, almost looks like mold. None of the others have it and I just realized why the boss hogg was going so slow, I accidently hit the stem and it fell over, thought this was weird so I picked it up and it never rooted because of my shitty transplant job, so I re transplanted and watered with transplant shock fixer upper, I added some more HF to the top of the pots about an inch up the stem to try and hold in the jiffy peat pellet and let it root more. If the mutant dies I will buy a GSC clone sooo ?:/
